b4sakenxx
Here the same problem. Before i enter to the desktop, Leopard says it doesn't detect any keyboard, please connect one The trackpad doesnt work either.Usb mouse works fine, but i can't access to the desktopAny ideas?EDIT: I almost forgot, is it necessary to apply the "9a581PostPatch.sh" patch? I haven't seen anything about it in this guide so i haven't applied it. Maybe this is the problem?I have a laptop core2Duo and i think efi is working fine ---EDIT--- This is probably what you need here. I used this on my Dell E1505 when I was trying to install Leopard on it. Works a charm, just drop it in your extensions folder, chown, chmod, delete extensions.mkext and reboot. Good luck! Just realized that I had trouble with this when trying to install Tiger 10.4.9 to the same laptop. I THINK if you run the following commands, it will work. Replace xxxxx of course. chown -R root:wheel xxxxxxxx chmod -R 755 xxxxxxxx rm -rf xxxxxxxxx/Extensions.mkext rm -rf xxxxxxxxx/Extensions.kextcache kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions not quite sure if these last two commands are the same or not. I was gonna try them today for Ethernet, but it somehow magically worked after i installed sound drivers. Anyway, I think the point is to get the kext cache cleared. I would suggest doing all this from single user mode because i read somewhere that it wouldnt work otherwise. Or do it from boot dvd. Good luck! ---------- Leo working perfect except for Reboot on a GA-965P-DS3 Rev 3.3. Audio, Graphics, Ethernet, 10.5.1 update, all ok. And I realized I never thanked OneTrack, so thanks for a great guide! Ended up using Kalyway disc and stuck with MBR as well, using EFI v8. Does anyone have any ideas about Reboot not working? I installed to an external drive, maybe thats why? JonyBravo
It seems that your BrazilMac patch is an old one or not the original one. In your output of "/dev/disk2 /Volumes/Mac OS X Upgrade DVD 1", the newly created image volume name is wrong. It should be Mac OS X Install DVD. Furthermore, your BrazilMac patch doesn't have files, which should be there. Namely minibless, OSInstall.mpkg, and so on.I would grap the real BrazilMac patch (31 Oct 2007 version) first. Then try patch the Leopard GM DMG with it on a Mac or Hac running Tiger not Leopard. Good luck.--S Hmmm. Very interesting. I will now hunt down the correct BrazilMac and try again.Certainly an exercise in patience Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/72493-leopard-perfect-install/page/19/#findComment-532961 Share on other sites
Coelacanth
I am using Dell Inspiron 6400 with Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 @1.83 Ghz, 1Gb RAM, Intel GMA950 Chipset. My problem is i did a lot of method in installing Leo on my machine, using BrazilMac's patched DVD. After installing and applying the patch, my system will keep on rebooting and when using -v, it will show after the firewire thing, "syncing disc...killing application (not exactly sure coz it happens so fast)". I tried the method that onetrack posted, but still the same problem. Any solution for me? I'm tired of using windows and i want to convert my laptop into a Hackintosh. btw, i installed it on my desktop with Intel945 mobo and Pentium D proc and it works like a charm, except that i don't have any network, but the sound works. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I haven't got any decent sleep in 1 week coz of trying. (have pity on me...hehehe) Cheers! spankdidly
Hey Guys, I installed everything per the guide and it WORKS! You guys are awesome. So far, My keyboard and mouse dont work on my Laptop (T60). If I plug in an external mouse/keyboard it works fine. So far, it seems slower than my hacked leopard install. But it does come up as a genuine Mac Pro. Hopefully this fixes all the software errors I was encountering with Ilife and Iwork. Is there anyway to get Firewire to work? And the mouse and keyboard? spankdidly
Oh Man, you guys are freaking awesome. I have 2 other stupid questions.. Running the pc_efi patch, I used V_5.1 Boot, was I suppose to use V_8 Boot? Also, I cannot get QE/CI to work. I used this guide on my hacked leopard install http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=37624 And I was able to get 1400x1050x32 and QE/CI Support. Using that thread with the pc_EFI bios, I'm not able to get QE/CI Support. Any pointers? EDIT: I dont remember if I downloaded a Previous ATIRadeonX1000.Kext. I'm using the one that's installed. Would that make a difference? Clarification: I download pc_efi Version 8, but I copied the folder bootV5 over to the partition, does this mean I actually copied over an older version from the Pc_efi v8? Did I actually load V5? Missagia
Let me understand what you are trying to say. With the AppleSMBIOS.kext that you've used, you got a gray screen asking rebooting. So second time, you used AppleSMBIOS.kext from PC_EFI v8. And you started the installation process (from Kalyway's CD-patch to Onestrack's post-patch) again (including the PC_EFI v8 AppleSMBIOS.kext installation to Extensions folder this time). But you still got the dark screen you linked. Is that what you saying? --S P.S. I saw that screen once. Then I used AppleSMBIOS.kext from PC_EFI v5.1 folder and boot_v8 from PC_EFI v8.0 to install on my MBR. Then flushed the caches (at booting, hold F8 and feed "-f" to boot option prompt, which means create or update the kext caches). Then the problem disappeared. i was saying that i install like the onetrack said to do. so it apears the dark grey screnn saiyng to reestart my pc, then i used AppleSMBIOS.kext that was incude in pc_efi v8 (jusr use rm -rf then cp -R command ), now i've tried to flush cached kext with -f but isnt works... Martynet
Hello guys, will osx86 leopard work on my notebook Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Xi1554? Missagia
Sorry, Missagia. I don't understand that at which point you got the linked screen with what AppleSMBIOS.kext and at which point you installed AppleSMBIOS.kext from EFI v8 for the second trial. Maybe someone can answer your question. --S lets try last time, ive installed kalyway boot cd + brazilmac's, doing all the things like howto of this post. then i got only the dark grey screen , saying to reestart my pc. (at this point i have installed all the things like the how to ask for.) so i start read more, someone somelse said to copy AppleSMBIOS.kext from the EFI-v8 folder, then i installed AppleSMBIOS.kext that ive got in EFI v8 folder. (i've already installed efi v8, after this i just copy with "cp -R" commad the AppleSMBIOS in v8 folder to /Volumes/Mac/System/Library/Extensions). then i've got the screen that i linked to you. (with this message of panic). thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/72493-leopard-perfect-install/page/19/#findComment-533973 Share on other sites
b4sakenxx
Quick question. I boot Leopard from and IDE HDD connected via USB. Everything works now, well 99%. That last 1% is accessing my DVDRW and my two other HDDs, all three of them are SATA. I'm wondering if I need AHCI enabled on my bios? I have a GA-965P-DS3 Rev. 3.3 and it has 6 SATA ports. 4 are Intel based, and the other two are called Gigabyte SATA? I'll say that when I installed Leo, it detected my HDD connected to SATA0 and my DVDRW which is connected to SATA1. But it didn't display the correct size for the HDD. My HDD connected SATA3 didn't get picked up at all. Is this normal? Thoughts? Comments? Wondering if maybe I should just get ready for a format and install everything with AHCI support... Lester56
WOW, I have allot of catching up to do. You guys are way way way ahead and I'm glad you guys have been working very hard. I, of course, am a newb at OSX86, although I've been building my own game machines since 1993....probably before most of you were born. LOL. Having been on the bleeding edge up until around 2005 when the bazillion sockets and RAM types came out...had too little time after that. Early this year I bought my first Mac, a MacBook, then a IPod Video, then a shuffle, a MacMini for my GF, then an iPhone.... Next I plan on using an Apple TV to remove cable from my home with iTunes. My problem, as is probably the same with all of you, I love the Apple UI but dislike not being able to build my own system or upgrade later. I like the challenge and I deeply enjoy putting a system together. And $1199 for a base iMac is allot of cash. So, here I am. I would like to begin with the most basic of n0ob questions: 1) WTF is "ToH"? 2) WTF is "EFI"? Thanks, Lester56 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/72493-leopard-perfect-install/page/19/#findComment-534019 Share on other sites
MasterXXXShake
ToH is a guy that made a custom install disk. You can find that out at sea. The Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) is a specification that defines a software interface between an operating system and platform firmware. EFI is intended as a significantly improved replacement of the old legacy BIOS firmware interface historically used by all IBM PC compatible personal computers[1]. The EFI specification was originally developed by Intel, and is now managed by the Unified EFI Forum and is officially known as Unified EFI (UEFI). quote from the Wic.
