Has anyone managed to get this working? I've tried so many kexts and edits now I've lost count.

I'm not fussed about "HD" features, just basic stereo out would be plenty!

A selection of finest Polish chocolates to anyone who can help me make this run...

(edit: or a bottle of booze? ;))

The following is what I've posted in the hardware forum. I'm trying to figure out the same thing you are. I have tried a few of the patches that are floating around, I'm wondering if I have to edit info.plists by hand to get the ICH9 addresses in there.

-----------------

I'm having trouble getting sound to work on my P35-DS3L. I'm pretty sure its ICH9 and ALC888. Has anyone gotten this to work with Leopard?

I saw where people were adding ICH9 numbers to info.plists like the following, should I have to do something similar?QUOTEAdd 0x293e8086 DevID to:

ALCInject.kext/Contents/Info.plist

AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleHDAController.kext/Contents/Info.plist

Thanks

Welp, I have 2 channel output working, no input at all by using the kext modified by peterg:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...57762&hl=#8 AppleAzaliaAudio.kext.zip

I really want the full working HDA other folks are talking about. Not sure why that kext doesn't work for me.

Ok, I got my digital out working, see my posts at the end of this thread:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=507162

Ok, I looked up the thread and found the instruction on how to run the patcher.

Now, here's the question since you have the exactly the same board as mine. Does it recognize all the ports? I have a 5.1 sound speaker system and been trying to set up the 5.1. Thanks.

Also, in that thread, you said you removed the previous version of AppleHDA and ALCInject. Did you mean you remove it and replaced it with some other version of them and run the patcher or you just deleted them and run the patcher?

hi guys, I have an Acer Aspire 5490G running Alc888

I tried following the various instructions but I don't manage to install these drivers. I don't understand how I'm supposed to install these kexts. Do I install both? which one first? What tests do I run?

How come when I reboot the screen stays at the initial apple logo and won't boot up unless I run the fsck -fy command? Would somebody take the time to just simply explain how to do it, step by step?

Txs I really appreciate this.

Sincerely, Andrea G.V.

Here you go guys. Line in and internal mic is detected as well as basic audio out but I haven't tested to see if anything else works.

HDA_ICH9_ALC888.zip

Hi I have a Gigabtye GA-G33M-SL2 with the realtek ACL622 installed Kalyway 10.5.2 eveything seems to work OOB apart from sound and GM3100 Q/E.

Updated using the Kalyway 10.5.3 combo still no sound ;)

Searched around and found this patch and I now have at least two channels out

So thanks for that :D , I'll carry on testing and see if line in, etc works. But I'm just pleased to have sound out for now.

HDA_ICH9_ALC888.zip

I used Baal's posted Kext with success on P35-DS3L on Leopard 10.5.6.

HDApatcher for ALC888 got the sound icon but system did not have any sound previously.

Thank you Baal, your post is of last year but did the trick today and saved my day. Cheers

For anyone with a gigabyte board download from

http://www.infinitemac.com/f7/kext-package...-install-t1823/

or http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...p;#entry1016090

the hda enabler and hda kexts included give 3 analogue outputs plus optical out and also analogue input and optical input.

Don't know how well they work on other boards, but worth a try.

Hi guys, I am a new member on this forum, i wanted to know how to get my Realtek HD Audio ALC888 to work. I try "AzaliaAudio.pkg" file, and I get crispy clear sound on OUT but not IN. I use "Skype", because my family's in America and i'm in Europe. PLS I want to contact my family, I dont want to go back to cr*p Windows XP!Or Vista/7! PLS. I will reward anyone to who solves my problem.(If he/she want's!) I tried this AppleHDA Patcher from Taruga! Didn't work! I think even USB mic won't be recognized because it's an INPUT! I've tried VooDooHDA and it recognizes the mic but it doesn't produce any sound, and the out sound is soooo shuttering!!!! (I've tried going to System Preferences and mixing the volume in VooDoo Panel, it didn't work!)
