    100% CPU After bootup

When you say "patch your disk" is this referring to patching that takes place in "post patching"? The does this happen in some script I'm supposed to run after install? like "./9a581-PostPatch.sh"Or maybe following "post install" instructions like this?http://forum.osx86scene.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=47

    slow perfomance

Mmm, NTFS you say? I have three NTFS drives on this machine. What kind of problems did you have?
  3. ToH kernel, 10.5.0, nvinject, AppleHDA Patcher, Alc888a After boot one of my two cores is running at 100% utilization and stays that way for maybe 10 or 15 minutes. After that it goes back to 0% and everything seems fine. At first I thought maybe it was spotlight creating an index or something but this has been going on for a week now. Digging around I found people recommending kernel parameters, "idlehalt=0", "platform=X86PC" and "platform=ACPI". I tried all three and none of them helped. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thank you, Jon

Yes, the nvinject from mac.nub's package I believe, works very well.

    slow perfomance

My new install seems to be very slow and I can hear the drive churning away, how can I tell if this is just spotlight indexing? I see spotlight listed in performance monitor but it doesn't seem to be killing the CPU or anything.

AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

    1. Delete AppleHDA.kext, delete ALCinject.kext (if it exists) from /System/Library/Extenions 2. Drag and drop the dump file on the patcher. AD1988B.TXT in the desktop screenshot, drag and drop that on the frog icon application. Let it run, it should produce a dialog like you see in that same screenshot. 3. Reboot, when it is rebooting, add -f parameter to the boot options.

AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

I used AppleHDAPatcher17 on Leopard running on my Gigabyte p35-ds3l with the attached dump. I'm getting two channel stereo output only. Was really hoping for digital out. This is ALC888 codec with a ICH9 motherboard. I had another, already modified AppleHDA and ALCinject in there. Should I have started from the base one? or none at all? alc888.txt

    ICH9 ALC888 audio on 10.5

Mmm, it looks like the only out is basic stereo. Does this mean that ALCinject.kext is working properly but AppleHDA.kext's info.plist might need some work?
  12. Ok, audio wasn't fixed for me until I tried Baal's version of AppleHDA and ALCinject. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;gopid=506996

    ICH9 ALC888 audio on 10.5

Baal! This did the trick for me! I can't wait to try digital out! Thank you so much. I hope The Master actually does send you a gift.

    ICH9 ALC888 audio on 10.5

Welp, I have 2 channel output working, no input at all by using the kext modified by peterg: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...57762&hl=#8 AppleAzaliaAudio.kext.zip I really want the full working HDA other folks are talking about. Not sure why that kext doesn't work for me.

    ICH9 ALC888 audio on 10.5

The following is what I've posted in the hardware forum. I'm trying to figure out the same thing you are. I have tried a few of the patches that are floating around, I'm wondering if I have to edit info.plists by hand to get the ICH9 addresses in there. ----------------- I'm having trouble getting sound to work on my P35-DS3L. I'm pretty sure its ICH9 and ALC888. Has anyone gotten this to work with Leopard? I saw where people were adding ICH9 numbers to info.plists like the following, should I have to do something similar?QUOTEAdd 0x293e8086 DevID to: ALCInject.kext/Contents/Info.plist AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleHDAController.kext/Contents/Info.plist Thanks
