  1. ] This is heavenly! Thanks MAJ!
  2. Hi vboyz, There is a good script (tutorial) by digital_dreamer on installing RAID for lion. Here is the link(digital_dreamers) Good luck and let us know how it works!
  3. Hi lemarqq, I think a better solution to your graphics issue is to use DSDT. By adding PEG1 and GFX string to your PCI0, you should be able to use the card without EFI strings. I am using dual gtx 480s using this method. Depending on your motherboard, you might want to goto the DSDT database on tonymacx86 or extracting your own DSDT using DSDT autho patch tool. Then adding the following patches in there Visit Tonymacx86 let us know if it works. Julius @KeNgoaiDao, Thanks! I figured the same way of getting rid of the unwanted themes! Everything is stable now! @MAJ You sir is awesome! Things are stable, and RAID is working amazing!
  4. Hi MAJ, Thank you thank you! I don't know how I could miss that, but everything seems fine now. There is no more low disk warnings and I haven't seen any random KP so far. Thanks for you patients and maintenance of this awesome script!!! Best, Julius
  5. Hi MAJ, I have spoken too soon. I just noticed a random KP that may related to the RAID setup. It just occurs during normal operations with the system. The console reports reads like: 7/13/11 8:42:36.199 PM com.apple.kextcache: Created prelinked kernel /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/kernelcache. 7/13/11 8:42:41.222 PM com.apple.kextcache: /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/kernelcache out of date. 7/13/11 8:42:42.044 PM fseventsd: Logging disabled completely for device:1: /Volumes/Boot OS X 7/13/11 8:42:44.840 PM KernelEventAgent: tid 00000000 received event(s) VQ_LOWDISK (4) 7/13/11 8:42:44.840 PM KernelEventAgent: tid 00000000 type 'hfs', mounted on '/Volumes/Boot OS X', from '/dev/disk0s3', low disk 7/13/11 8:42:44.851 PM KernelEventAgent: tid 00000000 received event(s) VQ_LOWDISK, VQ_VERYLOWDISK (516) 7/13/11 8:42:44.851 PM KernelEventAgent: tid 00000000 type 'hfs', mounted on '/Volumes/Boot OS X', from '/dev/disk0s3', low disk, very low disk 7/13/11 8:42:44.000 PM kernel: HFS: Low Disk: freeblks: 632, warninglimit: 654 7/13/11 8:42:44.000 PM kernel: HFS: Very Low Disk: freeblks: 239, dangerlimit: 327 7/13/11 8:42:46.416 PM com.apple.kextcache: Successfully updated helper partition disk0s3. 7/13/11 8:42:46.469 PM KernelEventAgent: tid 00000000 received event(s) VQ_LOWDISK (4) 7/13/11 8:42:46.469 PM KernelEventAgent: tid 00000000 type 'hfs', mounted on '/Volumes/Boot OS X', from '/dev/disk0s3', low disk 7/13/11 8:42:46.483 PM com.apple.revisiond: [ERROR] GSManager.m:-[GSManager _markLibraryCleanWithFSEventID:]:4702 Failed to get UUID for device 234881030 7/13/11 8:42:47.806 PM fseventsd: Logging disabled completely for device:1: /Volumes/Boot OS X 7/13/11 8:42:49.255 PM KernelEventAgent: tid 00000000 received event(s) VQ_LOWDISK (4) 7/13/11 8:42:49.255 PM KernelEventAgent: tid 00000000 type 'hfs', mounted on '/Volumes/Boot OS X', from '/dev/disk1s3', low disk 7/13/11 8:42:49.257 PM KernelEventAgent: tid 00000000 received event(s) VQ_LOWDISK, VQ_VERYLOWDISK (516) 7/13/11 8:42:49.257 PM KernelEventAgent: tid 00000000 type 'hfs', mounted on '/Volumes/Boot OS X', from '/dev/disk1s3', low disk, very low disk 7/13/11 8:42:49.000 PM kernel: HFS: Low Disk: freeblks: 650, warninglimit: 654 7/13/11 8:42:49.000 PM kernel: HFS: Very Low Disk: freeblks: 276, dangerlimit: 327 7/13/11 8:42:49.922 PM com.apple.kextcache: Successfully updated helper partition disk1s3. 7/13/11 8:42:49.926 PM KernelEventAgent: tid 00000000 received event(s) VQ_LOWDISK (4) 7/13/11 8:42:49.926 PM KernelEventAgent: tid 00000000 type 'hfs', mounted on '/Volumes/Boot OS X', from '/dev/disk1s3', low disk 7/13/11 8:42:50.015 PM com.apple.revisiond: [ERROR] GSManager.m:-[GSManager _markLibraryCleanWithFSEventID:]:4702 Failed to get UUID for device 234881033 7/13/11 8:45:19.250 PM mdworker32: kCGErrorFailure: Set a breakpoint @ CGErrorBreakpoint() to catch errors as they are logged. 7/13/11 8:49:20.990 PM mdworker: Unable to talk to lsboxd 7/13/11 8:52:45.281 PM mdworker: Unable to talk to lsboxd Could you shed some lights on this issue?? Thanks much!
  6. I think I just fixed my own graphics issue. The main problem there is that, even though I have DSDT.aml place in the Extra file, it has never been accessed. I need to manually put "/Extra/DSDT.aml" to my com.apple.Boot.plist file located on the RAID hidden boot drive. Using option 7 to edit it. I am happy as a Mac! Thanks again and I would be happy to provide more details on my dual 480 gtx setup + lion!
  7. Hi dd, guys! Thanks so much for this script. It helped me setup the Lion Raid! Thank you thank you! One problem I am still facing is that, with RAID, there is a KP on IOGraphicsFamily.text (see image). I could have it run without any KP using the Lion ESD boot drive. I am thinking this should be some kext related issue but I have bumping my head into the wall for a bit while now. Could you offer some suggestions? Again, thanks!
  8. It kept telling me that the GUID is missing whenever I enter my usr/pwd.
  9. ssds, Thanks for the reply. I actually came across the same thread yesterday and by applying the same script you recommended above the sleep issue I had got fixed. To save other ppl some searching around here is the script by tseug : copy and paste the command in to Terminal, but the command needs to be preceded by sudo: CODE sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x8b\x45\xc8\x39\x45\xcc\x74\x0b|\x8b\x45\xc8\x39\x45\xcc\xeb\x0b|; s|\x8b\x45\xb4\x39\x45\xb8\x74\x08|\x8b\x45\xb4\x39\x45\xb8\xeb\x08|' /System/Library/Extensions/AppleRTC.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleRTC Also, I am having issues with Mac App Store. I tried multiple solution by deleting the interface.plist and EthernetBuiltIn = Yes. Neither of this would solve this problem. I heard ppl were saying that I might need to use PCIRootUID=1. Do you happen to have the same issue?? Again thanks!!
  10. Hi guys, thanks for the patch! I confirm it works well with my GA-x58-Ud3r version 2.0 in Lion GM. My lion is sound asleep now. Thanks so much!
  11. Thanks for the great tutorial! It really helped me solving a long lasting problem since 10.6.8. My dual 480 gtx couldn't be properly setup to work on 10.6.8 for the past week...your post on Lion saved my long day and nights. One question, we have the same motherboard, I am just curious if your setup have any sleep problems? Mine goes to sleep but immediately wake up and goes to a state where the HDD is spinning but the screen is off. Could you shed some insights there? Thanks
  12. itunes can't authorize my machine

Got it. I am trying it now and will report back asap. Thanks for your patience.
  13. itunes can't authorize my machine

I guess so... I looked into the folder you mentioned, there is no kernel.log either. That's why I send the system.log to you. I think the only way I can filter all the kernel msg is from console.app and filter with keyword kernel. Would you suggest I reinstall the system again for this matter? maybe I should just remove chameleon option when installing the system...? Thanks, man.
  14. itunes can't authorize my machine

Hi Gringo, Sorry I have misunderstood you for the Extensions. My apologies. For the kernel.log, I have looked at Console.app several times, but can't find a log named as Kernel.log. That's why I was asking if you could point me to somewhere more specific. Finder maybe? Sorry again for this. I have check the root, and there is indeed a boot file. Thanks,
  15. itunes can't authorize my machine

No no... All the extensions are in /System/Library/Extensions. None of them are in the /Extra folder. I am booting from the disk1s2 MAKOPro. How can I find a concise kernel.log? Thanks!
