I'll try your solution... So I should delete Extensions.mkext, than 4 kext from extensions folder and than install your from Archiev2?

May be OSx86Tolls isn't good for installing kext? Because I tried many kexts "for G2P" that must works but no one works on my G2P :)

The best way to install kexts is to use KextHelper

By the way ... on Asus G2P internal display the maximum resolution is 1440x900 ... :) You'll have more options when you use the Dual Display ATiinject posted on the first post of this topic, and you enter the EDID for that specific external display you want to use. Do not compare with the drivers from windows where you have that extended resolution ... ;)

Hi to everyone!

I was here few months ago, trying to have my x1700 working with iDeneb 10.5.5 on my Asus F3se but had no success.

I was wondering if something new occured about this hardware. I have read some posts but this is unclear for me if it's working or not and if yes, what bundle(s) I should use.

Here is my previous post describing my setup.

I have an ASUS Z53 serie having a "told to be" x1700 radeon card. The device ID is 0x71de and the vendor ID is 0x1002. I beleive the card has 128Mb of memory. Its greatest resolution is 1280x800.

My laptop LCD screen is a CMO1526 and what I suppose to be the EDID is:

00FFFFFF FFFFFF00 0DAF2615 00000000 09100103 80211578 0AC6A99A 574E8526

1E505200 00000101 01010101 01010101 01010101 0101BC1B 00A05020 17303020

36004BCF 10000018 000000FE 004E3135 3449322D 4C30320A 20200000 00FE0043

4D4F0A20 20202020 20202020 000000FE 004E3135 3449322D 4C30320A 20200088

I installed a "vanilla" iDeneb v3 (10.5.5) and try to get my Radeon working. Is there any "ready to use" package or a "ready to process" method that would make my display working properly ?

Please receive a huge delivery of "thanks" if you can help!

Edit note: it sounds like my card is recognized by OSX but I still cant change resolution. Am I looking in the wrong direction? Here is a copy and paste of the Display section of the System Profiler:

Display:

Type: Display

Bus: PCIe

PCIe Lane Width: x16

VRAM (Total): 128 MB

Vendor: ATI (0x1002)

Device ID: 0x71de

Revision ID: 0x0000

Displays:

Display:

Resolution: 1024 x 768

Depth: 32-bit Color

Core Image: Hardware Accelerated

Main Display: Yes

Mirror: Off

Online: Yes

Quartz Extreme: Supported

Many thank's if you can help!!!

Finally... I tried all solutions but still no result :)

I really don't know why so :D

So... I have one idea. May be someone who have really good working Leo 10.5.6 on G2P can backup kernel and extensions folder (osx86tools can this) and put it somewhere? I think it will be helpful. And I really hope that someone may find time for this. Because I think it's only way to make my system working.

Best wishes to all and thank you for help! Hope you help me one more time.

I do not want to be rood or something ... But what need for the kernel and Extensions folder?

I use original apple disk then i patch the boot loader witch is Chameleon v 0.9, DSDT patched, and the extensions i already posted on this topic, and vanilla kernel ...

If U use iDENEB or PCOSX or whatever install ... you should be able to get it working at least 80% ... the apply the patches and 'Re done.

Now, to move along with your problem; please try to compare the EDID's ... the one i provided and yours. Possible to not have the same EDID ... ending in problems then that might drive you crazy.

You have the latest 2.04 BiOS version?

The only problem you have is the video?

Do you use a patched IOPCIFamily.kext?

I'll post later the Extensions folder if is necessary, but for now there is no need for a replacement of 240MB of info to get that machine working.

ok ... try the original ATINDRV.kext (from the update for example) then use patched ATIRadeonX1000.kext and the Atiinject or Natit personalized with your EDID (that i see you have already)

Oh... I am sorry for making problems, but you see I spent several monthes to upgrade to something from my 10.5.1. And always problem was in video. I have a mountain of DVD's with iDeneb's iPC's Kalyways and many others... And most of them worked good after installation... But no video. And all kext in this topic didnt help unfortunately... So I just thought that may be if I just install all extensions from other G2P my system might work... Well I can mistake.

I think that I should try your method with original 10.5.6 and bootloader modification... May be it will help.

Sorry one more time for all this stuff... I simply tired of all this attempts to get 10.5.6 :( Thanks a lot for all your previous help

If you get all the installs working but no video may be a fault of versions of files.

Send me the AtiRadeonX1000.kext and list of versions related to AtiRadeonX1000 that you used, the Atiinject.kext you used, ATINDRV ... and the EDID of internal display. I'll try to make the files working 4 you.

so... Is there any other solutions for Qi/Ex on G2p?

Or which Leo installed those who have working Qi/Ex on G2p? I mean iPc or iDened or retail?

no matter what "distro" you install ... you have to use the files i provided in first post ... it is working. the EDID for your display should look like this:

00ffffff ffffff00 06af8740 00000000 010f0103 80251778 0a6876a2 5a499f23 134f5400 00000101 01010101 01010101 01010101 01019e25 a0405184 0c304020 33006fe5 10000018 0000000f 00000000 00000000 00000000 00200000 00fe0041 554f0a20 20202020 20202020 000000fe 00423137 30505730 34205630 200a00db

Use Phoenix EDID Designer 1.3 to get yours ...

Hi!

It must be possible with all the x1700 graphic cards cards. Also depends not only the EDID for the display but you have to find the best kexts in order to get the system working ... Remember that some of the kexts have dependencies to other ... The injector you use is not compatible with other systems. All have some particularity, that's why the Info.plist must be edited and tested ... I cannot make tests because my system is Asus G2P, but you can compare the differences of the injectors from others and get a conclusion. Test the injector for Asus V1JP from my first post and edit it as you think it will work.

Ok ... so you get the right resolution but no "Hardware Accelerated" in the system profiler

on my system looks like this:

ATi Mobility Radeon x1700:

Chipset Model: ATi Mobility Radeon x1700

Type: Display

Bus: PCIe

PCIe Lane Width: x16

Main Display: Yes

Display Connector:

Status: No display connected

on yours must be the same if you used the files i provided

also be sure that you tiped this in terminal:

sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX1000.kext

sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX1000.kext

That for sure is because of some kexts with problems on load ... Do the chown chmod thing to the all Extensions folder and repair permissions; it must resolve the problem.

you have a patched IOPCIFamily ?

have to tell you taht now i have on external drive the installed system from original apple install dvd and the only kexts i patched are applehda, atindrv, atiradeonx1000; injectors for graphic and audio (atiinject and hdaenabler) and on Extra folder of chameleon2 i have ACPIPS2Nub, AppleDecrypt, VoodooBattery and VoodooPower

Nothing more ...

The only diference with the custom install i made a few time ago is that the CPU shows 2,06GHz but the system runs perfect.

I'll make an tutorial in next days and upload the files i use.

no - I haven't patched IOPCIFamily, because I didn't find patcher ;)

The manual for installing retail is a perfect idea!
