gray_hat
I don't know how to help fix your front row problem, but I can tell you how to change the login window background. You simply replace the .jpg at /system/Library/CoreServices/DefaultDesktop.jpg and that will become the login window background. realfolkblues
the new front row runs on the quicklook technology. If you can get it working in quick look it should run fine. Try installing this. http://blog.twenty08.com/2006/12/27/codec-...-new-mac-users/ and get back to me Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/68153-front-row-and-divx-xvid/#findComment-485064 Share on other sites
jabohn
I have Flip4Mac and DivX installed and while I don't get a preview, the movies did play fine through FrontRow. hazkid
One solution that I have working now: save your divx videos as QT reference movies. then, you can play then in FR, or for more options, add them to iTunes. I can PM you a great script that automatically does this many files at once. disclaimer: I did not write the script. subjectdenied
yeah, i have this mirroring bug too, but i fear this might be an issue with drm and will not get fixed by apple. is it possible to change the primary screen by using a script? manitoba98
Change the primary screen? Can't you just do that by going into Display preferences and dragging the miniature menu bar? Edit: Whoops, that's for extended display. Never mind... DAddYE
I resolved, with using the secondary desktop as primary or colsing my macbook and use only the external monitor Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/68153-front-row-and-divx-xvid/#findComment-486448 Share on other sites
zontimac
Just download "xvid_1.0alpha.dmg" and copy "Xvid_Codec 1.0 alpha.component" to /Library/QuickTime doubleclick your .avi movie and let start it with Quicktime. if your movie is ok, reboot your mac. After restart start FrontRow and enjoy your avi (xvid) movies!! Papa Bear
I have a somewhat similar but slightly different issue. I am trying to play an avi video. I already downloaded and installed the xvid component for quicktime. The video opens in quicktime just fine. I can watch it, but there is no sound.
