X-Ray Mac
I'm going to run windows on my MackBook Pro and I was wondering which I should go with.. XP sp2 or Vista (whichever version you think).. I was guessing SP2 for XP, but figured I'd get opinions on it.
CLiDE FTW!!1
Depends on what you're using it for. Gaming? XP SP2. Surfing the net, document creating, etc? Vista. But pretty much the only reason why people install SP2 IS gaming (with the rare case of "OS X can't do that"), so, I'd say XP SP2.
.aero
Like what CLiDE said, xp is for gaming (for the moment) and vista for everything else. I have vista and can not go back to xp. Its security is unmatched in the Windows world. Thats a huge plus for me.
~pcwiz
I still like XP better even for things other than gaming. I really HATE vista.
apowerr
If your Macbook Pro has an 8600m GT: Vista for DX10. X64: Vista. Since the MBP has such good specs, I would just go Vista.
X-Ray Mac
Would I be better off running it from Boot Camp?
rollcage
In Parallels definitely use XP, it already runs a little slower just because it's a virtual system. That should be fine for things like Office, etc. If you plan on gaming, use Bootcamp. You could go with Vista, but you'll still probably get better performance with XP.
