thegodfaza
Microsoft has created a new system that they call Surface. It basically makes your coffee table run windows. The table is a BIG multi-touch screen with an LCD under it. What makes this unique is it interacts with normal objects. Want to buy music? Set your credit card on the table and Surface uses it without you having to type in the number. You can also set mobile devices on it and Surface will connect to them. Surface also recognizes other objects like remotes, drinking glasses, etc by how they displace the touch-screen. This technology could be useful with businesses as in a cafe could have these at every table. When your done set your credit card on the table and pay for your meal. Colonel Ingus
The newest thing that MS has to offer is their new health site. However only a moron would be stupid enough to put all of their sensitive health records online Then again, many of those same morons use PC's so it's kind of fitting that MS is offering it

Numberzz
Yeah, most of the stuff on their site has people using two fingers on the display. Doesn't Apple have something similar to that?

thegodfaza
As for all those people who think Apple created it first or MS created it first watch this and note the date. Note the iPhoto looking thing. Could a tablet mac be on our way?
Ayanami
As for all those people who think Apple created it first or MS created it first watch this and note the date. There was a device related to keyboard synthesis that used a multi-touch table as a surface that I was reading about long before I ever heard iPhone. I do remember hearing it from MS first in terms of using it as a tabletop computing surface. And to be fair, Mr. Gates mentioned it during the interview that he and Mr. Jobs did that was posted on iTunes a while back. Note the iPhoto looking thing. Could a tablet mac be on our way? You can get tablet Macs made out of MacBook Pros. There was a company I was reading about in MacWorld that will take your MacBook Pro laptop, and reassamble it, with the original screen behind a touch sensative piece and a piece of glass, and the rest of the computer behind it. It looks really goood, got pretty good reviews for a tablet.
Colonel Ingus
Could a tablet mac be on our way? It's funny that you would ask this. Apple just placed a very large order for some parts that could be used in a tablet, and some are saying that we might get one when Leopard is released. My guess is they are right, and we will be seeing one before the end of the year, probably before the end of the month. It would be a very Apple-like thing for them to do. I also think that this is the real reason why Leopard was delayed. I would not buy a laptop, BUT I would probably buy a Apple tablet, because you've got to know that it would be one wild tablet Last year Apple filed for Patent No. D504,899 which pertains to a tablet like device. Apple laptops are the best selling computers for them so putting money into a tablet would also make a lot of sense for Apple. Several Taiwanese companies have also signed a confidentiality agreement with Apple for developemnt of a Apple tablet, and this was a year or two ago. You can read more about it here. Some are saying that it will have state of the art voice recognition. Compile all of this with Leopard and they'd have one kick ass tablet! Ayanami
Hrm.... It would make sense with the Coverflow and all.... I just don't see myself wanting an Apple Tablet. Doesn't HP have a Media Center tablet/dekstop kinda thing running Vista?
