edky
my powercore is being really stubborn and its not working on my hackintosh. tested in windows and it works! I keep getting an error E000011f. no one seems to have a clue to what this is. im thinking its maybe because of my sound card but I told TC about my issue and they couldnt figure it out! Im thinking their must be something and I think it might have to do with messing with extensions? anyone have a clue? tronax
FYI, my powercore PCI (the original) is working on 10.5.2, using the latest drivers from their website... no problems at all. (I know you said firewire.... just posting for anybody out there who wants to know about the PCI TC card) Now, if only I could get my MOTU PCI-424 card to work. I *KNEW* I should have gotten the firewire stuff instead... Speedstep and hacked kernels are not an option if you plan working with audio apps. Cebit
Are you running vanilla?Speedstep and hacked kernels are not an option if you plan working with audio apps. Yeah, I am running Vanilla and no injectors @ all, 10.5.4. The solution is to replase IOFirewireFamily.kext and IOFirewireAVC.kext with the ones from 10.4.8/9. Glad to be running Logic/Poco/Virus finally on OSX ! Firechild
The solution to replace IOFirewireFamily.kext with 10.4.9 version will indeed make the powercore up and running but the side-effect is that your external FW disks will not be seen any longer... Is there anyone outthere with a better solution? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63399-tc-powercore-firewire/#findComment-936411 Share on other sites

You can buy a second hand virus b instead and play safe. Just my 2c. MikeHunt79
Loss of sync, no Multi-Out in Logic, Unable to <<Freeze>> in Logic. Loss of sync would be the main problem for me really, I don't need to freeze as the poco does the processing anyway. Firechild
I am using the powercore Virus in Logic on a hack and never loose sync...but the sync is 10 ms late all the time...so to have it tight you have to bounce the track and move the audiofile slightly. it is only when you use "arpeggiator" sounds of course. Normal playable sounds you can just backdelay the MIDI parameter, Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63399-tc-powercore-firewire/#findComment-970222 Share on other sites

Firechild
neco_12, replace the IOFireWireFamily.kext with the one from a 10.4.9 installer DVD, and then it will work. I had a side effect though, external firewire harddiscs won´t show up, but not everyone will get this issue, but for me the Powercore worked great with this fix. hg2007
Not on about the firewire here but my element works with latest 3.2 drivers better than xp infact The only thing is does anyone know whether the optional request plugins for the mk1 cards (not the licence for the second gen cards) are intel compatible?
