Skitals
Any updates on this? Just built my new machine with ga-p35-ds3l. JaS 10.4.8 installs fine (no packages, just essentials + intel). I immediately updated with koolkal 10.4.10, again with no extra packages. Installs fine. When I install any video driver (for my 7600gs), it installs fine, reboots, and works great. When I reboot again, all kinds of funny business starts happening. Sometimes I get no image, sometimes I get a small blue screen. Sometimes I get a cursor, sometimes none. Sometimes I get a kernal panic screen. I've tried nvinject, titan, and natit 0.2. All have similar results. I thought maybe it was the 10.4.10 kernel. I reinstalled 10.4.8 from scratch, same deal. Installed koolkal 10.4.10 again, but choose the other kernel (sse2 + sse3 combo 8.9.1, or whatever it is). I installed Titan driver package with this. Both times it failed install at the end (please try again). Tried twice, same deal. Rebooted, and I get a blue screen and the message "Unable to find driver for platform: "ACPI" I'm assuming this is just because of the failed install. Tomorrow I'm going to try installing 10.4.8, and followed by jas 10.4.9 sse3 only update. Seems weird if it's the koolkal 10.4.10 sse3 kernel giving me trouble, since it seems to work for others. TheCoolNerds
hey dude.. whats up... maybe u got a bad image... or a bad burn... try the UPHUCK 10.4.9 v1.3 version... im using the NATIT 0.2 driver and i have my monitor plugged in on the left hand side... (if you look at your case from the back its on the left hand side, if from the front its on the right hand side..) i would have problems with my screen not loading up and then i switched the DVI from one side to the other and success... the NATIT driver takes like 10 seconds to display after the screen goes dark... Skitals
Thanks for the reply. Trying a new distro was on my list of things to try. Actually the first thing I tried to install was xXx 10.4.10, which wouldn't even boot the install dvd. I forget what the message was. I'm installing 10.4.8 again as we speak, and then will try jas intel sse3 10.4.9 updater. Skitals
Ok, here is what I just did:Install JaS 10.4.8 (only option: intel)Boot great, welcome screen, everything worksInstall JaS 10.4.9 updaterIt installs without error, reboot, everything still works fine.Insall NVinject latest Reboots, now running at 1650x1080, everything is perfect.Mess around a little to make sure everything worksReboot againEverything still works perfectInstall RTL1XXX_1.02 driverRebootBlue screen / Kernel panic after reboot! It definitely seems to be this stupid network driver. It seems everything works perfectly before I install it, at which point I can no longer boot.I'm going to put in a spare nic w/ tulip driver and see what the story is with that.Just booted into safe mode, used the rtl1xxx uninstall script, and it boots fine again. Rebooted twice to double check.I'm going to try the latest version of the driver (1.04). I believe I already tried this yesterday, but it's painless enough to fix when it breaks everything.Installed Realtek R1000 1.04 using install script... reboot... kernel panic :(Why am I the only one in the world with this problem.Ok, booted into safe mode, used script to uninstall rtl1000 driver, rebooted, works again (of course).Popped in my lne100tx pci nic. Installed tulip 1.0.2. Loaded kext, network works. Rebooted, everything happy.I would really prefer to use onboard nic. I hope somewhere down the road someone else with more determination can figure this one out Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62485-gigabyte-ga-p35-ds3/page/3/#findComment-474161 Share on other sites
aqwa
I do have the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3-R running with xXx 10.4.10 (essential elements only) I have installed it with a SATA DVD drive on a SATA HD (plugged onthe orange ports). (bios : SATA/RAID and SATA0-3 enabled, onboard enabled, onboard behavior IDE or SATA - can't see any difference) The good points : USB working out of the box, even the Bluetooth dongle Ethernet fully working with RLT R1000 driver from xXx 10.4.10 distrib To be done yet: Get the sound to work - should not be an issue, according to the messages on this board. Questions : Is it possible to get the IDE to work ? What settings (bios/kexts) should I use ? I do have a IDE 250GB backup HD I'd like to use ;-) When trying to install the Natit drivers JCCool method for my X1950XT graphic card, I got my hack to freeze on reboot after loading the natit driver and showing my ethernet address. Any clue ? Cheers, a^ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62485-gigabyte-ga-p35-ds3/page/3/#findComment-474205 Share on other sites
Skitals
I was just going to ask about IDE myself. I have two IDE drives hooked up that dont appear in OS X. On the bright side... as I was typing this (on my laptop), my hackintosh suddenly turned off. Great, I thought. What now? Hit space bar, and it turned back on, and desktop popped up! At least it looks like sleep works Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62485-gigabyte-ga-p35-ds3/page/3/#findComment-474215 Share on other sites

I wrote up a short guide to get it working here: link. Tried it on GA-P35-DS3-R works fine. Added to file id 0x2363197b instead of 0x2368197b as I have a DS3-R and not a DS3-P. You get your IDE controller id listed during "mother board" boot (before you get the Darwin starting). Note : Although this kext update lets you see and use your IDE devices, you'll still need to install from a SATA drive !!! oetzi
Hi I got a GB P35-DS3 Mobo, E6750, Geforce7300GT, 2GbDDR2-800. I've installed Jas 10.4.8+jas Combo Upd 10.4.9 + Koolkal 10.4.10 Update + 8.10.3 Kernel from greendemon. Still I can't see all my SATA Ports in Syst profiler (Generic AHCI - null) only two of the orange ones. IDE works, I got SATA DVD-RW Pioneer. Another thing: I see my Ram as 333Mhz instead of 800Mhz I've noticed poor performances in Photoshop, I've installed Apple.Smsbios taken in the forum. Is there any better fix? The ram speed visualization problem become after installing this. And there's a poor CPU usage during operations like resizing, , filtering, ecc... Many Thanks!!! t0M
Hello everyone, I have a little problem with a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3. I can't install any uphuck, the only installer that I can run is Jas 10.4.8 But everytime I try to boot on the fresh install, I get this screen: http://www.flickr.com/photos/9859389@N02/1789848826/ Looks like a ACPI problem or I don't know... I have this hardware: GA-P35-DS3 F4 Pentium E2160 4*1Gb DDR2 Crucial Ballistix (only one plugged yet) Pioneer 111D - IDE, plugged in IDE Hitachi T7K500 - SATA, plugged in orange SATA ATI X1950 XT 256 About the BIOS, I've tried everything... does anyone have an idea ? Please tell me there is an obvious and easy trick... something I forgot... hackcat
t0M, I believe if you use the purple ports for installation you need a DVD with the jmicron drivers, such as XxX 10.4.10. Since I'm using a Core2 duo, I don't know what other problems you might have with different DVDs relating to sse2/sse3 support and hpet. Also if you can install but can't even boot into os x, then I would try using the MBR partition table scheme when you format the drive. The JaS 10.4.8 DVD does not have that option in its disk utility but the XxX one does. Stewed Apple
t0m, Use the jas 10.4.8 install. Edit: (the first ACPI must be enabled in the bios, the last for the IDE/SATA controller, IDE) Update to 10.4.10 using kalway, koolal or what ever it was, I can't remember. Even better, the JAS 10.4.8 with that update. Install the AppleHDA kext, for sound. If you wanna be real picky, install IOATAFamily, AppleVIAATA so everything shows nicely in System Profiler. Laugh an evil laugh. Because everything works as long as you don't use a 8600gt. If you are still not satisfied. Then buy a mac, with Leopard. Thats what I did. aqwa
It works. I have a config very very similar to yours (see below). Note : Could not get kalyway 10.4.10 to install (kernel error ; don't know what was wrong with this disc) everything went fine with xXx 10.4.10. The DVD-R must be SATA and connected on the orange port with SATA activated in the BIOS. The configuration : Hackintosh GA-P35-DS3-R with on board RealTek 8168 Ethernet Controller C2D 2.6 GHz -> 3.2GHz ; 4GB RAM ; 250GB SATA HD ; 250GB IDE HD ; DVD-R IDE xXx 10.4.10 basic and recommended components only Additional Drivers :RealTekR1000 (RealtekR1000.kext from xXx) JCCool X1950XT driver (v0.1) alc889a audio (ALCinject.kext and AppleHDA.kext) AppleVIAATA.kext (from xXx updated with IDE controller ID as http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=66891 with value 0x2363197b) note : installation must still be performed with DVD SATA ! What works : On the Network side : AppleTalk file sharing with Apple G4 through Ethernet 100Mb Internet sharing through Apple G4 Airport connection And : USB out of the box (including 1GB key, Bluetooth dongle)X1950XT with QE/CI, dual screen, rotation... IDE HD and DVD on IDE connectors (yet crashing on 2.3GB+ transfers) Stereo audio (haven't tried more yet) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62485-gigabyte-ga-p35-ds3/page/3/#findComment-486475 Share on other sites
deadhero
This motherboard works with both Leopard and Tiger. Audio still needs a fix in Leopard, and i'm not sure about Ethernet... Could be that the installation copied the ethernet driver to leopard. Audiofix (only 2ch output, no input): http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=425004 Ethernetfix: https://sourceforge.net/projects/realtekr1000/ Install Audiofix: Copy the kext file to /System/Library/Extensions then open terminal and type the following (line by line, and after sudo -s, type your password): sudo -s chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions rm /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions Install Ethernetfix: go in a terminal to the folder where you extracted the zip file to (with cd): type: sh installrelease there will be some errors. thats good! if you get errors about not-formerly-installed kexts on startup, do the following (in a terminal): sudo chmod -R 775 /System/Library/Extensions/* sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/* Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62485-gigabyte-ga-p35-ds3/page/3/#findComment-487165 Share on other sites
