(check my sig for more specs) For some reason the proccesor is 2.41GHz unknown. but when I look in the "Hardware overview" it gives me the right info. BTW when i use a program like "CoreDuoTemp" it give me 1.5GHz... why? is it normal? or something isn't recognized right... Check attached pics, and my signiture to get my specs. thanks! BJMoose Posted August 29, 2007 Share Posted August 29, 2007 Since it is only a cosmetic thing, you can edit what your About This Mac says by editing aboutthismac.strings located in... /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app Right click on loginwindow.app and click "Show Package Contents" Go to /Contents/Resources/English.lproj You should see a file called "AboutThisMac.strings" inside English.lproj You can open it up with TextEdit Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My Pentium D 830 3GHz shows up as "3GHz Unknown" I'm not so sure about that. I think loginwindow 10.4.4 shows my processor as a quad as it does in system profiler. Whenever I upgrade it, say when moving to .9 or .10, it changes to unknown. Although what you say makes sense. Hi, do you have any problem opening .dmg files. I 've got the same CPU on MB Gigabyte P35-S3. Some disk images won't open on my PC. I get a message "image not recognized".
