I'm pretty sure my x1950XT does dual DVI, but right now I've only got VGA monitors hooked up to it....

Wait i'm a bit confused, since the link does not work. Are you suggestins a 7900GTO but it will be flashed as the 7900GTX and also suggestions the Qudaro FX5500, or will the 7900GTO be flashes at the 7900GTX as well as the Quadro FX5500, that sharing the opengl engine? sorry... :/

 

Sorry for the link, but yes the 7900GTO can be flashed to be used in OSX like an 7900GTX or Quadro FX5500, if flashed as Quadro OSX use for it a better opengl engine (this is written on AquaMac website)

Hi guys I was wondering did any of you know that aqua mac got the 8800 gts 320 and the 8800gtx768 to be flashed and recognized as quadro 5600 this is big time cooll!!

Hey guys, I just recently got my system up and running. I used to own a G5 dual core 2.5ghz powerpc machine, and have to say this hackintosh is about a million times faster. The only problem is, I can't get Final Cut Pro to launch. It crashed upon trying to load the FCP Engine. All other Studio apps startup just fine. If anyone here could look over the crash log and let me know what may be causing this I would be very thankful. I moved the system info up to the top of the report for easy viewing.

Do you have your network working? Do you have en0, the first network device working? FCP goes out to check if there are other copies operating with its serial number on the network when it starts up. If it can't find a working first device, it gives up...

Searching in Google helps "Final Cut Studio Hackintosh" - something like that - It could be a plugin - do you have any 3rd party plugins installed? Come to think of it, the en0 network problem just exits, no crash - so I'm leaning toward a plugin.

With the release of Leopard I just thought that I'd give this thread a bump to see if anyone has upgraded their previously working Hackintosh systems to Leopard and if so, how things are working since the upgrade? Have there been any problems since the upgrade with FCP6?

 

Also, while I've seen the systems in this thread (and the thread title) focusing on FCP6, I have yet to see anyone mention using Final Cut Pro Studio 2. Is there anyone that is using Studio with their Hackintosh and if so, how has the experience been?

FCP 6 is part of FCS2, so anyone using it would necessarily have installed Studio.

 

As to Leopard, it introduces incompatibilities (specifically between Motion and FCP), so I don't recommend installing Leopard just yet if you use FCS2...

As to Leopard, it introduces incompatibilities (specifically between Motion and FCP), so I don't recommend installing Leopard just yet if you use FCS2...

Thanks Patrick. The second tidbit of information was exactly what I was looking for. Looks like it stays a non-Leopard install for the time being as everything is more stable on the 10.4.x end of things.

I try to use FCS2 on my Leo from Flat image with EFI 5.2. I add only oryginal kernel and appleaciplatform, smbios from EFI package.

 

All works fine, but Compressor use 4 cores only 50%. OS use 4 cores 100%. In XP procoder express rendering movie in real time (1:1), Leopard Compressor 0:5 or slow. Any ideas?

I find it hard to believe that a Q6600 gets an 81.90 when a G5 Quad is 100....

Also, could it be Disk speeds? A total of 79.90?

To get Compressor to use all cores to the max, set up virtual sessions - 2 instances for quad (four for an Octo) - and submit to your virtual Cluster. It rocks.

Hey guys, I just read through this thread, thought I'd give it another bump - great info, and I suspect there are several others out there who would benefit from it.

 

I also wanted to ask if Since Leopard's been out awhile, if anyone's got an FCS2 install working on 10.5.2 yet, as it's what I'm considering doing (and sending my dual 2.0 G5 off to Valhalla via the 'bay.)

fcs2 with latest pro apps update 2008-1 (final cut pro 6.0.3) working perfectly here on fully updated 10.5.2.

also working: all adobe master cs3 apps (updated via adobe update), maya 8.5, nuke 5, combustion 2008, particle illusion 3.0.5...

actually, i haven't found a non-working app yet.

I am looking to build the perfect FCS2 hackintosh station - one of the main use of my rig would be to run 'Color' component of the FCS2. It is well documented that this app is very choosy about the installed graphics card. Did anybody find one good combo of mobo & GPU for this?
