This is the second major release of the Linkinus IRC client. It's not free, but in my opinion, it is the best client for Mac OS X out there. 1.1 costs around 20 dollars, and is packed with features. There is a 15 day demo available. It has quite a large release notes section...

Seems like a cool new IRC app. I tried using it, and it still needs a lot of work. It'd be good if somebody made a decent style for it, because all the default Linkinus skins are pretty bad. No matter which one I choose, it gets annoying. Their "SDK" is nothing more than a raw text-editing program that edits CSS styling, so it's not user friendly at all.

I've been using Linkinus for a while, and it is a great client. This update adds many features and fixes many annoyances, even beyond the official release notes. I made an iUseThis for it: http://osx.iusethis.com/app/linkinus

Also, you can hang out with the Linkinus crowd and ask for support at irc.linkinus.com, #linkinus.

That's a brilliant stlye Takuro. Nice work!

Thanks. Still has a few weird kinks.

I have two extra keys if anyone wants them :)

I just tripled up to make sure I got one.

It stinks how those licenses are only good for "1.1.x" (translation: just v1.1. I doubt they'd roll out v1.1.7. Seriously.) There are a lot of annoying bugs in the current release. I've never got a "pipe error" using any other client, and messages tend to lag. Even inputting text into the text box feels sluggish if I'm typing fast. :)

I dunno, I'm still leaning towards Colliquy by a hair, becuase of its ease of use in setting up. The UI on Linkinus looks awesome and very, very OS X'ish, but connecting is a another story. Its not as easy for some reason...or am I doing something really wrong? The InsanelyMac IRC is not even listed in Linkinus...but it is in Colloquy. I can still add it yes, but then where do you add the chatroom in Linkinus? :(

EFI, you may want to actually learn to use IRC

You can simply join any server by typing in:

/server irc.server.com

Example: /server irc.moofspeak.net

To join a channel, just type in:

/j #channel_name

Example: /j #osx86

(Offnote: InsanelyMac is not affiliated with the IRC network it connects to (Moofspeak) through the Java chat)
