Imagine if someone would hack apple.com and publish a link to the torrent there....

He would be my hero for the rest of my life!!!

And he would get to enjoy it for the rest of his life-which I'd imagine wouldn't be very long.

well the smart thing to do would allow few ppl to download then there would be some seeds then cuple more jump on it would be the fastest way rather than all being so impatient.

it'd be cool if they implemented a queue to join the torrent.

it'd be cooler if they did that and opened the torrent...

you guys realize that it doesnt matter who has the torrent at this point because there is only ONE PERSON with the full file right now, so the more people downloading it the slower its going to be.

Why should that be so? The server will hand out bits to some people, who will in turn be sharing them with others. I think the whole point of the Bittorrent protocol was to prevent exactly what you imagine would happen.

I think it's safe to say that the single seeder is constraining the maximum acquisition time for everyone else, but every bit that he's shared can speedily be laterally shared by all.

If you want to "wet your whistle" before October and do it legally, why not head over to Leopard Like Desktop Now and HELP to get Tiger to have a little more eye candy. At least Tiger is legal, is stable, and can run your present hardware/software for the next few months. And if you get the beta, still come on over and help out!

i suppose this explains the super-fast speeds you get until you hit 1 percent.

edit: omfg, 2 minutes without a post!
