domino
Works like a treat! Head on over to his site for the most up-to-date files or go to the following link. http://www.win2osx.net/forum/showpost.php?...057&postcount=5 I've compile a new v1.1 of the DVD/ISO patcher. Here's the complete list of what's included: - Maxxuss Boot Loader Patch (applied to ISO) - Maxxuss Mach Kernel Patch v0.3 and, for non-NX/XD CPUs, v0.3b - Maxxuss Anti-TPM Patch v1.0: oah750, oah750d - Kernel Extensions: -- ApplePS2Controller (keyboard, mouse, trackpad), -- AppleGenericPCATA.kext, -- AppleOnboardPCATA.kext (with NForce deviceIDs), -- AppleAC97Audio.kext (with NForce deviceIDs) and Maxxuss VMWare Sound Driver, -- Maxxuss VMWare Network Driver. - removes AppleTPMACPI and AppleFPMemDriver kernel extensions. This is hopefully the last release concerning 8F1099. And thanks for users here and in the other forum for your help and testing. BTW, 8F1111 kernel seems to be a big overhaul from Apple, as they e.g. added support for CPU napping. I'll post details when I'm done. domino
Damn it Lee, where have you been? All the info are over at his site. His instructions prety much covers everything. I'm sure he'll updated for our computer type. There are several ways to go about it. I chose to install vmware/1043 and mount the physical disk and install it on partition. I'm sure with this patch, it wil be much easier to patch the iso with the new kernel then burn it. The only thing I have to do now is get the correct kext for the AC97 sound. I also have a minor querk with the mouse leaving block trails. I don't know if that's due to the current PS2 kext. Maybe i'll replace it with the one posted on this board. stryder
The new "test" patch now boots into the installer. It's _VERY_ slow. Also, my USB doesn't work (says there's too many hubs. ). My PS2 keyboard works, until there's no more buttons that are "default". Also, I had to boot with: boot: mach_kernel.test -v -x It appears to freeze at a couple of points in the boot sequence, but if you just leave it, it continues on! Not sure what's going on here, but it does boot the GUI installer! Obviously there's more work that needs to get done. Maxxuss is getting close.... Update: 7:37 AM... I dug out a PS/2 mouse, and it's installing! The new "test" kernel by Maxxuss works!!! nyichiban
how do you use the mach_kernel.test? Do you replace it on the DVD or after the install? Thanks! stryder
how do you use the mach_kernel.test? Do you replace it on the DVD or after the install? Thanks! I've put it on the DVD and when you boot you enter it as a boot option. The trick comes after installation. I had to go to work, but you have to replace the one installed on the hard drive with the .test one. I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to do that... But I did get it to install completely in about 20 minutes. CthulhuOSX
After several dvd burnings and cursing in many languages, looks like it's working. I'm installing native. Some odd messages popped up telling something about "something" (can't remember) was mounted but only as read-only, then gave some options to type, so I typed one of the options (was about go on as single user) then the GUI showed. It showed the drive (sata) where I had the 10.4.1 (patched with maxxuss' 10.4.3 file) then proceeded to install. I didn't format the partition before installing 10.4.3. , should've I done that? Is at 54% now. I'll post results a.s.a.p. cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4806-patch-sse2-with-no-nxxd-now-works/#findComment-30673 Share on other sites

domino
I just had a thought to replace my PS2 mice/kb with USB kb/mouse. They both work now. DVD Player can change the region and it now works well. But I did get it to install completely in about 20 minutes. I've successfully installed 10.4.3 using the new Maxxuss test patch. The first boot was really slow, but after that it's fast! I had to boot off the DVD after I had installed it, and I re-copied the mach_kernel.test file to the startup disk. Upon reboot, it worked! Seems flawless! TribesMan
I can confirm that maxxuss add-on patch fixes problems with Pentium M processors. I've just installed 10.4.3 on IBM T42 laptop with Dothan 1.8GHz CPU and R9600 graphics. System is ultra fast and Core Image is supported!!! It is perfect! Thank you maxxuss. You are the greatest. CthulhuOSX
I finally made it!!! I installed 10.4.3 natively. Everything looks to run faster, Safari and Shiira both run flash content. Sound, Network, and Graphics work fine. Now I can play MAME and other emulators. The only thing not working is Apple Remote Desktop I really need that for work. How did I install? well, following that hdiutil thing (convert, then mount) and then replacing the aoh* files, then replacing mach_kernel from the dvd with maxxuss patch (I did rename mach_kernel.test to mach_kernel) and that was it. Can't wait to get my hands on a final version. domino
Thanks Maxxuss, I updated the original post to reflect the changes. I'm assuming that there is no other steps that should be taken if the current native has no problems and that here are no addition changes to the the system files. Of course you addedd/fixed some kexts, but those that solved there driver problems before patch 1.1 shouldn't worry about patch 1.1 until the next 8F1099 install. VaiOSX
Hi Maxxuss, You are amazing ! I would like to ask you a question. Does the V1.1 patch will let my pentium M (without PAE support) boot 10.4.3 ? Some people say it doesn't, some it does... :? Keep the good work ! domino
It's easy enough to answer that yourself if you read his site. Changelog for v0.3b: it fixes the reboot issue that many users have experienced after the boot prompt. However, if your CPU does not have the PAE feature or if the PAE is broken (as in some Centrino Pentium Ms), then this will not work. PAE is a must-have for 10.4.3, sorry! VaiOSX
Dear domino, i did it, but was confused about some people here claim that their Pentium M Laptops reboot issue is gone in native install. That's why i asked, thinking it may will be true but not yet updated on maxxuss website. cheers. domino
Actually, the quote I posted was updated at the time he updated the patches. So those without PAE is SOL . But yea, sometimes I do have a hard time telling if they are current or not. Maybe one day Maxxuss will add the time edited next to the date. I don't know if that will work either judging his speed of patches being released. VaiOSX
Ok i get my answer. I just finished to apply the v1.1 patch on the 8f1099 iso. burned down and SUCCESSFULLY started a native install on a PENTIUM M (CENTRINO) who doesn't support (everest and ASP resuslts) PAE and NX/ND. I'm so happy ! PS: the command to start is mach_kernel.nonx -x at the boot prompt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4806-patch-sse2-with-no-nxxd-now-works/#findComment-31145 Share on other sites
cyrana
Yeah, just a note that on my NC6000 with 1.6 Banias, it all installs fine with the latest patch. Finally QE and CI with this Mobility 9600 @1400x1050x32, but still no wireless.
