My CPU & MOBO has SSE 3,NX & PAE. (bios enabled)

check pic below or http://www.alanliu.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Report.htm

i apply the "Maxxuss DVD/ISO Patcher" to the "10.4.3_8f1099_for_dtk_userdvd.iso" then burned to a DVD then boot it. when i boot it with command: mach_kernel or mach_kernel.nonx or mach_kernel.orig.

It just show a grey apple reboot screen:

try booting with a -v option to, then repost where it hangs

sorry forgot to say on the first post

booting with a -v option. show this:

or could it be bcause i have 2GB OF RAM? the 10.4.1 didnt have this problem.

I have the same problem. I have a 640 CPU, 945P chipset and 2Gb RAM. Tried everything but no luck. I've heard some people tell that you need to have an integrated graphics card or that the hacked files are not completly working.

Still searching for a solution...

Yep, 'till now that's the only solution for 915P and 945P

I think I've figured it out. From Maxxuss's page:

"PAE" stands for "Physical Address Extension" and allows your CPU to address more than 4 GB of pyhsical memory. It is enabled by Mac OS X's kernel; sorry no work-around for this. PAE is actually a quite old technology (first found in the Pentium Pro), so current Intel and AMD CPUs should have this feature. However, some issues, probably related to motherboards/chipsets/RAMs, might cause trouble with native (i.e. non-VMWare) installations - typically, you experience an instant reboot after the boot prompt in this case. This issue is currently under investigation. Note: Some users observed that their motherboard will allow PAE only if the NX feature is enabled or full 4 GB of RAM are installed. If your CPU supports NX/XD, make sure you use the original or my SSE2 kernel with NX enabled.

My Intel board is obviously having problems with this. I don't have 4GB of RAM kicking around, so I'll have to wait...

Just a thought, have you made sure that you changed ALL your BIOS settings in regards to NX? I had this same problem til I checked ALL my settings (for like the tenth time) Then. it booted no problem Oh, BTW, I see that you list an NVIDIA card. Did Maxxuss not say that he has NOT patched that yet? COuld that be your problem?

what did you set on bios to make it work? anything to do with DVD drive?

I don't have the "Execute Disable Function" setting in my BIOS. But I think I should, shouldn't I? The CPU definately supports it. ;)

Mine does too, but I can't find it in the bios and I'm getting the dreaded kernel panic like everyone else when I try to boot from the DVD. :) I have an Athlon64 2800+ for reference.

Do you get the same kernel trap number? (0xc0196F60) If yes this probably means that XD bit is enabled. If it weren't I think you would get a reboot instead.

Not sure though. Download a CPU tool that can tell if you have XD bit support or not.

Yep thats the one. ;) Has anyone figured out how to get past this kernel panic, or is this a wait for the next patch release thing?

I just discovered my CPU is a 505, and not a 505j, which means I don't have execute disable ("NX").

Installation is working on native harddrive guys :D

THIS IS AN INSTRUCTION FOR INSTALLING 10.4.3 NATIVE.

NATIVE. not VMWARE WE WILL JUST USE VMWARE BUT IT

GIVES YOU A NATIVE FULL BOOTABLE INSTALL.

ok.

I already posted this, but I thought it might be way easier to find this

in a new thread.

Before you go for it, make sure that you followed maxxuss installation

guide. That means that

[x] that you took the latest UltraIso to convert the DMG to an ISO

[x] that the md5 checksum was ok, and

[x] that your PC has the minimum requirements

Second, lets check, that we have the same problem here, so that my

solution will work for you:

I was able to boot my DVD in VMWare, but I was not able to boot it native.

When I tried this, it always stucks with a kernel panic looking like this.

Now, when I say that I was able to boot it in VM ware, I do not mean to

simply mount the iso file, but to insert a real burned disk in a real drive.

Now that we are on the same level, lets get started.

This solution in short will do the following:

you can install your OSX 10.4.3 native by using your DVD from inside

VMWare. This will take about 30-40 minutes, and often waits for something,

but it works so be patient.

You do not need any preinstalled VMware osx. If you already have, ok, if

not, doesnt matter either. You can simply setup a blank machine if you

want to.

Installation instructions to pass the Native DVD-Bootup Error

Requirements:

- VMWare installed

- the patched and burned DVD

- Primary AF Partition on a real Harddrive (I used my secondary Harddrive)

(You can either setup this AF partition with diskpart, or you do it in the installation process itself. i did it before.)

HowTo

1. Apply maxxuss DVD/ISO patcher with ppf on the DVD-ISO Image

2. Burn the DVD (do not use simply the image to mount in VMWare)

3. In VMWare

- add your desired real HD as a boot drive to your virtual machine in VMWare (add>hd>use physical disk>advanced>independent/persistend)

- set this disk to 0,0 and, if there already is an install, the "old" virtual volume to 0,1 in the HD advanced settings

- note that you don't have to have any osx installed in your vmware. This will work with a blank VMware, too. :0)

- make sure VMWare is set up to boot from your real DVD (it should be, by default)

- insert DVD, start VMWARE-Machine, and follow the installation

- when it asks you for the drive, select your desired real HD Volume/partition as target, and erase it.

So it is kinda crossover between VMWare and native, like a DVD-Rom in a

nutshell. it is a little sluggish but it is working. as soon as you don't get a

grey Stop-sign, or an error message, just wait, because everything is

gonna be alright. This way it will install it on your native HD, and it will also

give you a bootsector.

This is a very convenient way, to pass the nasty boot issues.

Guys that's a problem with this boards any non 915G/925G/945G it won't work, I made my DVD to install using your same CPU with a D915PCY without, fortunatelly my brothers PC have a 915G motherboard so I installed it right there and then I move back my hard drive to my D915PCY and now it's fully working without needing to hack any kext so the reason why it's not working with you is because you don't have an integrated video card.

VMWare Crossover Installation Failed:

** Virtual machine kernel stack fault (hardware reset) ***

The virtual machine just suffered a stack fault in kernel mode

No matter what kernel I used, "-v" shows the machine reboots after loading "/System/Library/Extensions.mkext". So far the best thing I've seen is the apple in the middle of the grey screen.:(

I've used "paevn="TRUE" and adding /PAE in boot.ini

My 10.4.1 native installation was good on my Dell Inspiron 4500, P-4 2MHZ, sse2, no nx, PAE supported, intel i845E
