Colonel Posted March 4, 2007 Share Posted March 4, 2007 Since MacWorld in January, rumors have been floating around about another Apple Event... one that would bring the new version of Mac OS X, "Leopard," into the world along with the introduction of iLife '07 and iWork '07. Several rumors claiming that Apple would hold an event in February turned out to be a hoax. Now Apple itself is announcing a special event in April, at which Apple may introduce Leopard, iLife 07, iWork 07, Final Cut Pro 6, and possibly new displays. It's more likely, however, that major introductions of hardware and Leopard will take place at WWDC in June. MacWorld has the scoop on Apple's NAB event. Apple will hold a special event at the N ational A ssociation of B roadcasters (NAB) trade show on Sunday, April 15. While no details were available on what, if anything, will be announced at the event, Apple has used such events in the past to launch significant product releases. In 2005, the company used an event at NAB to launch Final Cut Studio and Soundtrack Pro. A similar event was used to launch Motion in Las Vegas. Apple will also have a large booth at the show. Typically the first booth in the South Hall, Apple has moved the booth this year to accommodate the larger size. Takuro Posted March 4, 2007 Share Posted March 4, 2007 (edited) I'd have to bet that iLife won't be released until Leopard, and OS X 10.5 definitely won't be ready by April. Final Cut Pro 6 has already been said to be Leopard-only. By that logic, half of those things on the list don't seem likely. At least not this early. Knocking out the possibility of software announcements, I'd bet that the event will focus either on an update to the MacBook line or an update to the displays. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple.com features new LED-backlit MacBooks and displays pretty soon. The Mac Mini is really long overdue for an update to Core 2 Duo, although I think that it'll be silently updated without any announcements. The Mac Pro probably won't see an update until Leopard is released. So in a nutshell: I'm betting on LED-backlit notebooks and possibly a Mac Mini update. Nothing groundbreaking. Something related to iTunes/iPod or Apple TV or something related is my guess. Something related to iTunes/iPod or Apple TV or something related is my guess. I say LOGIC 8, at least after the guffon of the 003 from Digi. LOL. If we're lucky we'll see Mac Pros announced and updates to Apple's Pro video applications.
