hatoncat
Apple has released the final version of Xcode 2.2. This is the second release of Xcode to support Universal Binaries, and the first to lock out 10.4.1 Intel (the leaked/hacked release). Xcode 2.2 makes significant improvements to SEE opcodes and the Accelerate framework, as well as general Intel compatibility improvements.

So a question to devs using this version: will unibins made with 2.2 allow for the PPC code to run with 10.4.1 Intel (using Rosetta)? Does the Maxxus 10.4.2 exec patch circumvent the "lockout"? Eggman
Anyone know where someone might be able to get preview 1, if they wanted it? EDIT: Never mind; it can be found on the 10.4.3 DVD. Edited November 11, 2005 by Eggman
Severnya
How exactly does it lock out 10.4.1 - does the IDE not work on it, or do the apps compiled with it not run??
ecstasy
Doesn't recognise my update patched 10.4.3 installation. Fixes?
hatoncat
How exactly does it lock out 10.4.1 - does the IDE not work on it, or do the apps compiled with it not run?? Xcode 2.2 makes changes to the Intel binary header so that 10.4.1 cannot read them properly, and thus, will not launch the app. Doesn't recognise my update patched 10.4.3 installation. Fixes? myzar
Yes. http://developer.apple.com/transitionkit.html lol 1499$ for junk hardware hahahaha back on topic, the installer can easily hacked to make it install over 10.4.1 but apple has broken binary compatibility again and not in the old way. dunno if you remember that maxxuss released a 10.4.2 kernel exe patch that used to work but doesn't anymore. All the xcode apps and not only the compiled stuff won't run on 10.4.1 , if you launch them from a terminal they crash with an illegal istruction msg
