However im doubting the "generic" intel processor can handle it. Apple took "computer" out of the name. SO WHAT? They want to diversify like other companies and MORE POWER TO THEM! They have been diversifying for years, just hadn't pushed this much. The iPhone will go down and only thing I was disappointed in was pure iPod version, with no phone, but we may see that soon. I think the pure iPod line will still go on and on. I really don't get the whining. Apple is soaring and will kick Vista's ass. Leo is coming ok? Did everybody forget Leo had it's own keynote a while back? Huh? You don't repeat yourself. Macworld is still going and Leo may NOT be mentioned. If Apple wants to keep Leo under covers to further hurt Microsoft, GOOD. The Macs are NOT GOING ANYWHERE. They have been updating them for months, time for other things, yes? Leo is coming and I think they may wait to hit Microsoft with a bombshell right as Vista launches. I mean the tablet was announced and it wasn't in the keynote, so like I said before, Macworld isn't over yet, chill. I am behind Apple and think many need to back up, stop whining, and just see Apple is succeeding when years ago they were about dead. I agree that repeating yourself is a little dumb; but they did do that with the apple tv. A shipping date would have been nice to say the least. If they want to pummell Vista, why not tell us that their shipping date will be January 30th. Competition over this would raise the hype up, and yes for both OS' but still raise it high for Leo. I am a computer geek (hardware and software, especially operating systems) Other gadgets are of little or no interest to me. Cell phones? If I can talk that is all I need. I have two old mobiles (over 5 years) which serve me fine. Listening to music? At home with my HI-FI. Television? A 7 years old, 20" one, plus a video recorder and a cheap DVD player. Thus Apple getting rid the of the "Computer" part in its name can only mean bad news for me. What really worries me is that *if* Apple loses interest in computers, that could make Microsoft monopoly even stronger. And no, Linux is no real competition (said by an old Linux geek) This is a matter "marketing" and "timing". Steve never shows his whole hand. Finally, the "iPhone" is a computer. It runs OS X. No, not really. The internet and this forum has been abuzz with "OMGWTFBBQ the iphone!!!11" and now it is hear, whining ensues. Leo has had its spotlight and Jobs will now keep it hidden till time to strike. Yes, maybe just a release date would be nice (I do agree with you on that), but like I said we have till Friday. I think if we got a release date that would be fine, but another keynote or part of a keynote showing Leo? Don't need to. Vista is a {censored} fest, everybody knows it and now Apple/Jobs are ready to hit MS. The iphone has hit hard but Leo should be a larger hit. Info will come but this keynote was never about Leo so I see no disappointment. I just don't get it. Nothing is perfect and I know no keynote is perfect, but I think Apple is on a rocket UP and we need to be patient. murcielago585 Posted January 11, 2007 Author Share Posted January 11, 2007 well I agree that everyone has been wanting this thing for a while and it is a pretty cool piece of equipment but after reading rumors of an iphone before the past couple of event I kinda lost interest in it and thought it wouldn't come, plus I can;t have one. I guess we'll wait and see, and then wait a little longer for a kernel.
