moseschrist
I'm having problems with the iwi2200 drivers... everything works ok until it has to get an IP address. It gets stuck there and just tells me "getting ip address..." and never ends up doing anything... I'm using uphuck's 10.4.9 v1.3 release. maybe you are trying to connect to ad-hoc network ? or maybe it's a secure network... post some logs so we can see what is the problem.. jalavoui, the shift with network_cap..._ibss is ok, it was copied of the ipw_best_network(){..} function and there is used to filter ibss and bss networks according to the card current mode... Focher
Here are my logs. I am using a Thinkpad T60p and have booted the machine with the wireless hardware switch on. I have an open access point running with the ssid being broadcast. It seems to see the adapter but cannot do anything with it. 1) LED does not toggle. 2) No access points listed under Network List. 3) en1 adapter is showing in ifconfig with proper MAC address 4) Ethernet adapter showing in System Preferences - Network (PCI Ethernet Slot pci8086,4227) but says "not plugged in" dmesg.txtioreg.txtsystem.txt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/98/#findComment-388295 Share on other sites

Plmcrzd
OK guys yet again another NOOB. I am running a fujitsu lifebook and everything is great. Except. 1. Marvel Yukon 88E8055 PCI -E GB Ethernet card. It shows up in network preferences but it is greyed out and I can't do anything. 2. Pro/Wireless 3945 ABG. I see the guys are working on it. And I'll keep checking for the fix. But can someone help with the NIC. A laptop with no network connection is useless. Thanks in advance. Can you provide a compiled version for those of us who are non-programmers and have neither the skills nor tools to compile anything. I did a system update from Lenovo on my T60p today (3945abg) and so I should theoretically have the latest firmware. Danl
Ok this may sound stupid, but I was trying to gather logs for the kernel panic on my 2100 (the latest revision) and the system.txt and the dmesg.txt are both empty... mind giving me a play by play of how I "should" be testing the driver :-)... thank you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/98/#findComment-390928 Share on other sites

I see the card in the network preferences. and on the task bar I see teh wireless icon. I click that and it detects a few wireless signals. But when I try to attach to a network, it just sits there for a few minutes and never gets an IP address. Is there something I need to do or doing wrong. PLEASE HELp... Total OS X noob........ GeraldS
I'm using osx 10.4.8, semthex kernel 8.8.1 on a hp compaq nx5000 (it has an ipw2100 wifi adapter) Loading the current iwi2100 kext (revision 465 i think) gives me a kernel panic. Log files are attached. I also uploaded some pictures from the kernel panic in single user mode: Image gallery Funny thing was, when I was running some version of osx 10.4.9 (not sure which one exactly) the driver loaded fine and even showed up in networking options. It finally crashed when I was running NetworkSelector. I'll investigate it further as soon as I get my dvd with it back. Btw, you should add the revision numbers and update dates to the download page, makes it much easier to check for newer versions. dmesg.txt ioreg.txt system.txt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/98/#findComment-393040 Share on other sites

emymrin
Intel 2200bg, 10.4.8 Darwin 8.8.1 kernel, latest iwi2200 driver, testing ad-hoc mode. Second machine is running XP-home and has unsecured ad-hoc network set up which can be used to connect to from XP-Pro without any problems. But it appears that I cannot connect to it from OSX using nsGUI. Ad-hoc is shown in network list but it is not marked as ad-hoc and in addition there is lock icon shown. Also nsGUI won't allow me to create ad-hoc network - "Create Network" button is always disabled. Please let me know if I do something wrong or how I can help you more. A stupid question: how can I know installed iwi2200 driver version? Respekt Shame on me. emymrin
Managed to connect to ad-hoc at XP-home machine after manually setting ip and mask. Otherwise ip configuring takes forever. Pinged XP machine. moseschrist
emymrin: the create network option should be activated when the card is in off mode and in adhoc mode. about the ip configuration: that problem occurs even on xp, i never managed to connect to an adhoc network without having to wait forever for ip configuration to end. i believe manually setting the ip is the only way to quicken the process.
