asstastic
see previous posts for the correct Apple80211.framework... it looks like i'm the only one who has a "wireless button" It seems like a lot of acer models have switches on the front for wireless and bluetooth. mine has one at least. also, would backtrace logs from a kernel crash when loading iwi3945 be of any use to you. cyclonefr
did you try to reboot from a working connection from windows to macos? Yep, I never disable wireless support anyway. I'm pretty sure your driver doesn't load the firmware yet. LoLL
Nope, the iwi3945 doesn't have any button's. All you can do is disable the wireless (FN+F2). My amilo S1520 is bundle with a i3945abg. I got a "Wireless Button" which swith on/off BT+WLAN together. Also, got two shortcuts to switchs on/off BT (Fn+F1) and WLAN (Fn+F3). artaq
The Apple80211.framework is present in the PrivateFrameworks folder, is it necessary to move it to the frameworks or is it fine where it is? superbadboy
I have a wireless on/off button but it seems to be managed by the motherboard (ie, it works without any special drivers in Windows, if I put it on off, it turns my bluetooth + iw3945 off automatically, as if I unplugged a USB dongle) and NOT by the card itself. My Sony-VAIO-SZ2XP/C have a wireless on/off button, if i put it on, bluetooth is on and iw3945 is alwyas off. Thank for you Help !!! Thanks, and sorry if i'm asking dumb questions, I read through nearly all of this thread but I'm still a bit confused as to the usability of this driver. cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/26/#findComment-300912 Share on other sites

(Is it safe to use the software update from apple?) I don't think you will need to update, since with 10.4.8 you need to use older kext's. It is not safe to use software update because you need older kext's will it support WPA encryption? It doesn't at the moment but im sure it will soon. ttorok
see previous posts for the correct Apple80211.framework... it looks like i'm the only one who has a "wireless button" i think the keyboard shortcuts do the same thing kazu, this also happens with your card? if you reboot (i windows) with the card connected to a network, does it stays on? try to reboot from windows to mac os with the card power on - it might help the IPW_INTA_BIT_RF_KILL_DONE\nPress wireless button to turn interface on\n is called only when the interface is off or by the firmware. in iwi2200 when i press the wireless button it turns on - you should get the same effect using the keyboard if this doesn't happen it's because of the firmware. i never was hable to use the wireless button without loading the firmware correctly did you try to reboot from a working connection from windows to macos? I tried the following: IO80211Family.kext and Apple80211.framework from JaS 10.4.7 (hopefully this is what you pointed) and of course iwi2100_v2.kext. - reboot - no airport device detected... - load iwi2100.kext manually - loaded - (btw: during boot there is a message: Couldn't alloc class "darwin_iwi2100") - no airport device detected... - even no any wlan icon (bluetooth icon visible and bt works well) - I can switch bt and wlan on/off only together (Fn+F5 keys) - after I boot Linux - wlan and bt leds are ok and they're working (automatic, no any switch on/off needed) - boot mac again - only bt works... :-( how to continue? pls help Tamas Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/26/#findComment-301059 Share on other sites
