Mandatory Requirements:

=========================

Disable SIP:

csrutil disable

csrutil authenticated-root disable

 

Disable SecureBootModel in your config.plist.

 

Install the KDK matching your system version.

 

If you experience issues booting the system, you must restore the snapshot by entering Recovery Mode and typing the following commands in the Terminal:

 

mount -uw /Volumes/Tahoe

bless --mount /Volumes/Tahoe --bootefi --last-sealed-snapshot

 

Note: Replace 'Tahoe' with the name of your volume.

Tried version 3 on a Tahoe test disk that only had Audio from the Monitor speakers. On opening the App, it prompted me to D/Load the KDK Package.

 

On doing so, I rebooted the machine clean NvRAM (don't know if necessary) and proceeded to load the ALC.kext via My KextInstaller.

Just like that, I had full Audio from my System again. :thumbsup_anim:

 

Thank you for testing and sharing the results. Yes! This version works just as well as the previous one. There are still some features to be implemented I’m improving the app little by little.

In time:
I take this opportunity to thank the EFI that you made available to me, which made it possible to install Tahoe Beta 1.
I made progress... now I'm on Tahoe Beta 3.

Hi, @Mirone! I have installed .bundle with your app and it works. I have tried to patch Polaris on non-avx2 pc. Sound OK on 3 machine so far. Good job!

Just tried v4, no issue, macOS disk (M2, I don't know if it makes any difference) has recovered its name after MyKextInstaller closed.

Actually, I think version 4 is already good. But because while it was installing the file, my machine restarted itself before it was finished. After coming back, the name didn't change. I installed it again. When it finished, it asked me to reboot again. When I came back, the sound came back, but the name didn't come back. (It might have been when the machine hung and rebooted at first.)

As follows.

Here it is. I think it will inject both systems. The main ones are from KDKs and the other one is for us to use our own. I don't know about this one.

Open and run MykextInstaller, if prompted to D/Load and run KDK Package, click on link and download the package.

 

Now open and run MyKextInstaller again, it will find the kext in the folder you placed on the desktop and will be injected.

When done, reboot the machine and Audio will be restored.

 

PS - I have uploaded the ALC kext for you, just place it on your D/Top.

After successful Audio injection, the folder can be deleted from the D/.Top.

Good news, the sound is here.

Bad news, the SSD won't change the name back to the original. Before, I used version 3 and it changed automatically.

Fixed! Now there is no longer a change in the disk name ;)

So, it's always been said to inject AppleHD with MyKextInstaller. Here's an example

But if you search for other posts by Mirone, it always refers to AppleHD... ALC seems illogical to me. ( also because Apple cut AppleHD not ALC )

 

Anyway, maybe @Mirone can clarify this.


I just tried version 4 of MyKextInstaller injecting ALC, and it sounds / works  :guitar:  the same.
I had to rename the disk too.
