Grandma gets a big kiss on the cheek! Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction. It worked just fine. Now I just have to figure out how I can get USB WiFi to work without that USB patch that's preventing my Tahoe installation from booting. Don't go anywhere, please. I think I may still need help. It turns out that I cannot even patch the AppleHDA.kext. I have disabled ever setting in the OCLP-Mod and have uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I noticed that reinstallation did not result in a new download of the KDK. Therefore, I think I might be having an issue with the KDK. I am going to look into that and see if I can delete the one I have and manually install a new one. I'll report back. BTW, I did create a new USBMap in Tahoe and it was significantly different from the one I created in Sequoia. However, both work in Tahoe and neither allow me to boot once I have applied the OCLP-Mod patch. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361249-oclp-mod-releaseissuediscussion/page/14/#findComment-2841299 Share on other sites
cloudy
This is an issue with the oclp-mod patch. As discussed here, I've correctly configured SIP 03080000, SecureBootModel disabled, and AMFIpass.kext 1.4.1 in config.plist, but as you can see in the image, I'm still unable to patch. What went wrong? config_oclptest.plist 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361249-oclp-mod-releaseissuediscussion/page/14/#findComment-2841331 Share on other sites

cloudy
Thank you for your reply. Yes, of course. As you can see in the image, amfi kext is loaded. Also, I tried using the boot argument instead of the kext, but the result was the same. cloudy
Thank you miliuco It's a bit confusing. I can't use Wi -Fi. So I have to apply this patch to install Chris's Wi -Fi app. It seems a bit contradictory. panosru
I completely removed OCLP-Mod since the only available patch that I had was for the AudioHDA, which, it seems that I don't need since my Audio works via my external USB audio console even though I still have random audio cuts. As far as I'm aware, the OCLP Mod does not apply anything else that makes the system more stable. For example, sleep is not working properly for me, and when I leave my computer running for a while, it seems that all USB interfaces are frozen and the computer crashes after a while. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361249-oclp-mod-releaseissuediscussion/page/14/#findComment-2841375 Share on other sites

If you don't have a way to download the KDK (corresponding to your Tahoe version) from another PC, perhaps, You can use Hotspot with an iPhone or via tethering by adding the HoRNDIS.kext if you're using an Android phone. Or just download everything from your phone and then transfer and install it on your PC 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361249-oclp-mod-releaseissuediscussion/page/14/#findComment-2841390 Share on other sites

mnfesq
Well, I could be upset that I spent 5 days (night and day) trying to get USB WiFi to work in Tahoe because I could not get the USB patch to work without destroying my Tahoe installation but I choose to ignore that as something in the past that I cannot change and instead focus on big thanks to @laobamac_yyds for the commit he made to OCLP-Mod yesterday which fixed the problem I was having. With the new download, it took me 15 minutes total to get USB WiFi working in Tahoe. Now, I am mustering the courage to install Tahoe on my main system. A fresh backup will be an absolute necessity. Yay! 3 1 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361249-oclp-mod-releaseissuediscussion/page/14/#findComment-2841485 Share on other sites

laobamac_yyds
57ced8b286cf28fe155d2a7cccf5d3e3.mp4 Well, friends, I have successfully patched the executable files of Metal and OpenGL. Now the graphics card of Kepler core can pass the initialization stage and in some cases shows interactive cursors (shing zooming has a smooth dynamic effect). However, the 12.5 MTLCompilerService.xpc will die indefinitely in Tahoe, resulting in process blockage, resulting in the inability to pull up all system graphics. However, Monterey's MTLCompilerService.xpc is a necessary environment for NVIDIA Kepler... I'm looking for other ways to patch the MTLCompilerService. If anyone needs it, I can send the repaired Metal binary file. 10 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361249-oclp-mod-releaseissuediscussion/page/14/#findComment-2841600 Share on other sites

panosru
I might also do the 8TB upgrade (the unofficial one because my kidney costs less than the official one ) but after 1 year when my coverage by Apple with expire, then I'll think about it, for now I want to play it safe. I payed 3729 euros for the Mac Studio alone, and in total with the other stuff I got (hubs, docking station, HDD station for external storage etc.) I spent total of 4300 euros. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361249-oclp-mod-releaseissuediscussion/page/14/#findComment-2841773 Share on other sites

Sorry if I am sounding like a turn coat but the end of the Hack line is way too much in sight. I hear you.
