Since I don't have a digital output on the monitor, I could also do without the AppleHDA and opt for Voodoo, keeping the SIP value as low as 01000000.
But it's hard to give up the old LaunchPad. 😆 (restorable thanks to laobamac).

To work, the SIP value 03080000 is required.

So at this point, since the Seal is compromised anyway, I opted for an all-in-one patch... https://github.com/laobamac/OCLP-Mod/actions/runs/17004700890 (latest commit)

AppleHDA and LaunchPad patched at once

First install the latest version of KDK 25A5338b (if the app doesn't detect it, it will download it automatically).

Also available via OCLP-MOD

OCLP_Mod has a multilingual branch in the original repo by @laobamac_yyds but it's outdated compared to the tahoe-test branch (v3.0.0), which contains the patches for Tahoe (AppleHDA, classic Launchpad, USB, etc.). Therefore, it's mandatory to use the tahoe-test branch, but it's (almost) entirely in Chinese.

As long as OCLP-mod 3 remains Chinese-only, users will continue to ask for help or look for ways to translate it.

@Anto65 (and some user that I don't remember) has posted (I think more than once) images of OCLP-Mod with added English text to help us know where to go. Following this way I've added English text in the places I use, which are AppleHDA and classic Launchpad. I hope it is helpful for you.

Notes

  1. Get OCLP-Mod.pkg from tahoe-test branch >> Actions (e.g. here is latest)
  2. If you don't have installed the KDK yet, OCLP-Mod downloads and installs it for you (25A5349a at the time of writing)
  3. The new disk icons are preserved
  4. Sometimes you get an error saying "an installation is in progress." I recommend reverting root patches and trying again. If that doesn't work, revert to the last sealed snapshot. You can do this with MyKextInstaller or SimpleLoader. Try OCLP-Mod again
  5. Classic Launchpad works fine but Spotlight search is missing. I've successfully replaced it with Alfred5 (free version).

Hi @laobamac_yyds ,

I really admire your OCLP-MOD implementation — it has been amazing to see AppleHDA restored on my system under Tahoe thanks to your work. I was wondering if you see any chance of also bringing Broadcom BCM94360CD Wi-Fi support to Tahoe in the near future. I know that you already commented on this but just to give it another try:

From what the OCLP team mentions, they expect something by winter 2025, which feels like a long wait. I think the entire community would be thrilled to have this patch sooner, as it would be a huge step forward for Hackintosh users running Tahoe.

I’ve seen on GitHub that you’re busy with other Tahoe-related activities for now, but I just wanted to express how much this Broadcom patch is desired. Do you think it’s feasible to implement, or is it currently too challenging?

In any case, I’d be happy to help with testing, debugging, or anything else that could assist in developing this patch before release. Just a few lines to hopefully inspire you to give it a try — the community would be extremely grateful if you succeed. Nobody would mind if the application remains in Mandarin 😉.

Thanks for considering this, and thanks again for your amazing work on OCLP-MOD!

Best regards,

KGP 💫

@laobamac_yyds Is it possible for you to develop a solution that does not require root patching for the Broadcom based wifi cards that used to work OOB? I remember last year @Austere.J  was even teasing a working solution but no updates since then. I’m not a dev but can help testing as I have a Fenvi FV-HB1200 WiFi & BT card that can come back from its forced retirement (I don’t like SIP disabled).

Okay, friends, I haven't been watching forums much lately.

Regarding the patch for the wireless network card in Tahoe, it is currently very difficult. We need to add back functions such as __os_trace_zalloc that were removed in Tahoe through dyld interception. This is a huge project, and I don't think my energy and skills are enough to complete it alone. After all, I am only one person, not a team.

However, I have looked at the bwn driver in FreeBSD and the bwfm driver in OpenBSD, and the latter, like itlwifi, porting bwfm seems to be a feasible solution. But doing so categorizes it as an IOEthernetController and connects it to the system through an Ethernet card, not an ADWL interface. This means that if successful, it will only have the most basic network functions like itlwm. In addition, unfortunately, bwfm only supports FullMac network cards, which means that only the BCM43602 wireless network card used by Mac can be purchased and supported by bwfm!Network cards such as BCM43224 and BCM4360 belong to SoftMac and can only be supported under the bwn (4) driver in FreeBSD. However, there is a huge difference between bwn and bwfm, and the complexity of SoftMac drivers can reach more than 1.5 times that of bwfm due to the need to handle more content that should have been handled by the network card firmware. This seems feasible, but the time required and whether it will succeed are unknown, so I need time to consider whether to proceed with this project. After all, it is not long before the Dortania team's expected time, and perhaps waiting for OCLP will be faster than transplanting bwn.

This posted by @Austere.J sounded promising.  Haven't seen any updates since.

EDIT: Should have read back a few posts - just saw @jlrycm 's post here.  Sorry about the duplicate.

The device ID in his screenshot is pci14e4,33ba, which is BCM43602, the only available Mac's detachable FullMac Broadcom wireless network card that I mentioned earlier. But the BCM4352/4360/4322/43224 and others we use belong to SoftMac. Even if 43602 can be successfully driven, directly patching the new version IO80211 in his post is not feasible for most network cards.

Thanks.  That explains why we haven't received any updates.

@laobamac_yyds, there are issues with OCLP-Mod under Tahoe 25A354 on my system. The root patch is simply not applied although there are apparently no errors during the patching. Everything was working flawless with all DPs of Tahoe. I am using the pre-release of OCLP-Mod. There are no issues with gatekeeper or quarantine either.

BTW.. Whatevergreen 1.7.1d1 with bootarg "wegdetectmode=norec" did not work either during the sequential update of Tahoe 25A354. Once more I had to disable WhaterverGreen to proceed.

Thanks for any help in this issues. 👍

As of now, the KDK and RC 24A353 of 24A354 are the same and there is no difference.OCLP Mod should be able to install patches normally, and I have also updated 24A354, and the patch is working properly.

Perhaps you can try uninstalling the patch once and reinstalling it?

--------

The WEG I modified did indeed fail during OTA 24A254, but everything worked fine when testing the recovery mode of 24A353. It seems that further repairs are needed Ah, it's really a difficult problem to solve.

Do the new patches ONLY apply to Sund (Applehda) or is it now finally possible to

patch nVidia graphics cards Kepler or can we forget about that once and for all?

No.. for now it doesn't fix the kepler cards like yours and mine but who knows? in the future everything is possible for those geniuses

In moments of doubt I try to stay positive, after all we can always seek support from friends here (it's all Cartesio's fault) 😄

@laobamac_yyds, I reverted the root patch, uninstalled OCLP-MOD, Reinstalled AutoPkg-Assets.pkg of OCLP-MOD from here: https://github.com/laobamac/OCLP-Mod/releases/tag/push-3182c55cab3f2b95d5e659a2e4a19cbd6ddf5832 , checked AppleHDA in the settings and run the root patch 4 times verifying audio each time.

No Audio under Tahoe 25A354 on my system!

image.thumb.png.226ad2923c600f2389eff393a4af5db5.png

Patch installs without errors, AppleHDA.kext exists on disk at /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext but is not loaded, SSDT is therefore not injected, kernel shows UnloadNotification Invalid argumentt; SIP (csr-active-config = 03080000), AMFIPass.kext, and Authenticated Root are disabled, everything worked fine under all DP builds and also with Tahoe RC 25A353.... How to proceed?

Best regards,

@laobamac_yyds, sorry if this has been discussed before... We have a hard time navigating the Chinese interface. Will there be an English version of OCLP-mod?

There’s a multi-language branch but I haven’t used it so I don’t know how it works. I think  @miliuco  helped creating it

Just tried it.
Installed the KDK (25A353).

@Anto65, @eSaF I know, OLCP-MOD was working flawless on my system up to know. Something I might have changed on my System or EFI since the Tahoe RC install, where everything was still working as expected. Debugging everything at the moment  🤔...

I did the approach of @Anto65 above.. Same issue...

Let's see if I can find the culprit on my system 👍
