Anto65
Since I don't have a digital output on the monitor, I could also do without the AppleHDA and opt for Voodoo, keeping the SIP value as low as 01000000. But it's hard to give up the old LaunchPad. 😆 (restorable thanks to laobamac). To work, the SIP value 03080000 is required. So at this point, since the Seal is compromised anyway, I opted for an all-in-one patch... https://github.com/laobamac/OCLP-Mod/actions/runs/17004700890 (latest commit) AppleHDA and LaunchPad patched at once First install the latest version of KDK 25A5338b (if the app doesn't detect it, it will download it automatically). Also available via OCLP-MOD Spoiler Select the patches to apply from the settings (I don't care about USB-WIFI, unchecked) Spoiler After reboot both the "old LaunchPad" and AppleHDA worked Spoiler The new disk icons have been kept Spoiler Edited August 20, 2025 by Anto65 3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361249-oclp-mod-releaseissuediscussion/page/12/#findComment-2839560 Share on other sites

miliuco
OCLP_Mod has a multilingual branch in the original repo by @laobamac_yyds but it's outdated compared to the tahoe-test branch (v3.0.0), which contains the patches for Tahoe (AppleHDA, classic Launchpad, USB, etc.). Therefore, it's mandatory to use the tahoe-test branch, but it's (almost) entirely in Chinese. As long as OCLP-mod 3 remains Chinese-only, users will continue to ask for help or look for ways to translate it. @Anto65 (and some user that I don't remember) has posted (I think more than once) images of OCLP-Mod with added English text to help us know where to go. Following this way I've added English text in the places I use, which are AppleHDA and classic Launchpad. I hope it is helpful for you. Notes Get OCLP-Mod.pkg from tahoe-test branch >> Actions (e.g. here is latest) If you don't have installed the KDK yet, OCLP-Mod downloads and installs it for you (25A5349a at the time of writing) The new disk icons are preserved Sometimes you get an error saying "an installation is in progress." I recommend reverting root patches and trying again. If that doesn't work, revert to the last sealed snapshot. You can do this with MyKextInstaller or SimpleLoader. Try OCLP-Mod again Classic Launchpad works fine but Spotlight search is missing. I've successfully replaced it with Alfred5 (free version). kgp
Hi @laobamac_yyds , I really admire your OCLP-MOD implementation — it has been amazing to see AppleHDA restored on my system under Tahoe thanks to your work. I was wondering if you see any chance of also bringing Broadcom BCM94360CD Wi-Fi support to Tahoe in the near future. I know that you already commented on this but just to give it another try: From what the OCLP team mentions, they expect something by winter 2025, which feels like a long wait. I think the entire community would be thrilled to have this patch sooner, as it would be a huge step forward for Hackintosh users running Tahoe. I’ve seen on GitHub that you’re busy with other Tahoe-related activities for now, but I just wanted to express how much this Broadcom patch is desired. Do you think it’s feasible to implement, or is it currently too challenging? In any case, I’d be happy to help with testing, debugging, or anything else that could assist in developing this patch before release. Just a few lines to hopefully inspire you to give it a try — the community would be extremely grateful if you succeed. Nobody would mind if the application remains in Mandarin 😉. Thanks for considering this, and thanks again for your amazing work on OCLP-MOD! jlrycm
@laobamac_yyds Is it possible for you to develop a solution that does not require root patching for the Broadcom based wifi cards that used to work OOB? I remember last year @Austere.J was even teasing a working solution but no updates since then. I’m not a dev but can help testing as I have a Fenvi FV-HB1200 WiFi & BT card that can come back from its forced retirement (I don’t like SIP disabled). 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361249-oclp-mod-releaseissuediscussion/page/12/#findComment-2840451 Share on other sites
laobamac_yyds
@KGP-iMacPro @杰利厘米 Okay, friends, I haven't been watching forums much lately. Regarding the patch for the wireless network card in Tahoe, it is currently very difficult. We need to add back functions such as __os_trace_zalloc that were removed in Tahoe through dyld interception. This is a huge project, and I don't think my energy and skills are enough to complete it alone. After all, I am only one person, not a team. However, I have looked at the bwn driver in FreeBSD and the bwfm driver in OpenBSD, and the latter, like itlwifi, porting bwfm seems to be a feasible solution. But doing so categorizes it as an IOEthernetController and connects it to the system through an Ethernet card, not an ADWL interface. This means that if successful, it will only have the most basic network functions like itlwm. In addition, unfortunately, bwfm only supports FullMac network cards, which means that only the BCM43602 wireless network card used by Mac can be purchased and supported by bwfm!Network cards such as BCM43224 and BCM4360 belong to SoftMac and can only be supported under the bwn (4) driver in FreeBSD. However, there is a huge difference between bwn and bwfm, and the complexity of SoftMac drivers can reach more than 1.5 times that of bwfm due to the need to handle more content that should have been handled by the network card firmware. This seems feasible, but the time required and whether it will succeed are unknown, so I need time to consider whether to proceed with this project. After all, it is not long before the Dortania team's expected time, and perhaps waiting for OCLP will be faster than transplanting bwn. 4 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361249-oclp-mod-releaseissuediscussion/page/12/#findComment-2840478 Share on other sites

Even if 43602 can be successfully driven, directly patching the new version IO80211 in his post is not feasible for most network cards. kgp
@laobamac_yyds, there are issues with OCLP-Mod under Tahoe 25A354 on my system.
