mnfesq
With the release of macOS Sonoma, a new feature was added that I found very irritating -- a pop-up indicator that caps lock was enabled. The problem is that the indicator is located so close to the cursor that it often interferes with the text I am writing in all caps. I searched for a means to toggle this feature off but Sonoma does not provide one, at least not yet. If you are bothered by this feature, I found a way of disabling it in this article: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255159504?answerId=259667268022#259667268022 I hope this helps someone. 4 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/357728-release-macos-sonoma-14/page/4/#findComment-2812426 Share on other sites

I also bet that NootRX.kext is an emulator who make MacOS to believe that 6700 is 6600 and so on. OS driver for 7900 doesn't exists and like I said, will never be. It is reportedly a port of the Linux driver, so Navi30 would be a possibility—given sufficient time and resources. But porting a graphic driver is very big task for a team of three. And there's the question of how good the Linux driver is to begin with. 3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/357728-release-macos-sonoma-14/page/4/#findComment-2812429 Share on other sites
SavageAUS
Wow.. It works!!! In a while I'll try geekbench Thank you very much for letting me know, I had no idea about this. I have compiled the Kext and attached it in case anyone wants to try NootRX-1.0.0-RELEASE.zip UPDATE: Geekbench results: https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/compute/1090037 https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/compute/1090029 I missed the latest beta update of Sonoma 14.1... it has been updated perfectly with the 6700XT: What doesn't work is the DRM, TV, Netflix safari, HBO, Amazon Prime Video app... Would this kext help or hinder my RX6800XT that to me works perfectly. Thanks for the tip. I tried disabling it System Settings (General->Login Items->Allow In Background but that did not work: Instead I did the following in Terminal (and that stopped the Installer Progress message): defaults write com.google.Keystone.Agent checkInterval 0 To Enable Google auto updates again : defaults write com.google.Keystone.Agent checkInterval 18000 But now that I know what is causing that message, I am not too worried. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I haven't tried it but I'm sure it just works, you can even remove "agdpmod=pikera"... but you'll probably lose the playback of DRM content. I asked one of the developers about the DRM issue and he told me this: Quote Yes, we're missing some kind of encrypted binaries for DRM content, it's in the backlog for now. Glad that everything else works. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/357728-release-macos-sonoma-14/page/4/#findComment-2812457 Share on other sites

With the network cable, both working fine, iMessage and FaceTime, and them work perfectly. But because I use a desktop and not a laptop, as I have almost no use for these resources, we use WhatsApp for distant calls and almost never FaceTime. 1 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/357728-release-macos-sonoma-14/page/4/#findComment-2812502 Share on other sites
