@canyondust nice! Yeah I toyed around with scan policies today but got caught up in life. Im curious as to what all we need to operate here with minimal scanning. Maybe just the two below for me (M.2 NVME). I love how Xcode converts it for you. http://opencore.one

0x00000400 - Allow EFI Partition Scan

0x00080000 - NVMe Scan

i assumed because i have a 4k Display UI scale should be 02 and 01 for 1080p, which is why i have 02. but i will test this out.

Okay so that is strange UIScale 01 which is suppose to be for 1080p Displays actually reduces the size of the boot logo, but i have now lost HIDPi on boot, its cosmetic i know but everything worked okay under 0.0.3 so i'm confused as to what changed to make the bootscreen behave the way it does.

Hey, try disabling SanitiseClearScreen in UEFI->Quirks, that's what fixed for my Vega 64.

And Misc->Boot->Resolution, just set it to "Max". "WxH" is not a valid value, what @NorthAmTrans means is that setting it to a specific resolution that fits your screen.

Also, since you're using a 4K display, leave UIScale to 02

First off, you're the jam.

I nabbed WxH from the doc but I must have misunderstood what it meant...and now I'm seeing that it's Width by Height. Dammit. Wow. Just wow.

Interesting! And you could keep a ‘scan all’ type EFI on a USB key if you needed to boot a wider range of devices.

Sure, but it's a Vega 64 Stock card i'm starting to wonder if there is an underlying problem between the VBIOS, Opencore and Whatevergreen, hard to tell unless someone else is having a similar issue.

My RX580 works fine

config.plist

I have exactly the same problem with my Vega 64. Tried all sorts of combination without success. The funny thing is that if I have ShowPicker and UsePicker set to true (YES) the resolution is fine when the Apple progress bar is showing up after the OC boot menu.

This was working in a previous version of OC for sure.

@MacProDude @obus

I had the same problem with my Vega 64 (the iMacPro1,1 build in my signature). I solved it by disabling SanitiseClearScreen, but maybe there's some other configuration that might affect it. This is my config.plist with the PlatformInfo section removed, for your reference.config.plist

I have that disabled in my config too. We have the same settings.

Still this was working in a previous version of OC.

Hmm, then I have no clue now :(

It was the same for me too, working in older OC, after updated to 0.0.4 with FwRuntimeServices, it's not working. But that disabling that option indeed solves my problem, so.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I need some help with upgrading to Mojave.

I run the Mojave installer , it finishes the first stage and is asks me to restart.

But , there is no option on OC to boot from Installer , just the High Sierra partition.

After reboot I saw the installer files to be on the root of High Sierra and not on another partition/

I something wrong with my config?

Can someone take a look, please?

I had all those options before in still a massive bootlogo

UIScale does nothing for my Vega 64

Hmm.. I guess it doesn't always work for everyone with similar setup. But I saw your uploaded config.plist has SanitiseClearScreen set to True so I thought you could give it a shot.

UIScale works only when the resolution is correct I think, or it will only make the logo look even bigger.

I have set that to false and the logo is still big. I must of tried every option. strange as it worked before updating OpenCore.

Does anyone happen to have an EFI.zip for a Ryzen build? I'm having a hard time with the AMD patches and would like to compare it to a working build. Thanks!

Algrey posted the patches a bit back in the AMD discord, here's a direct link to his file: OpenCore Zen kernel patches

And the OpenCore Vanilla Desktop Guide also has a Zen section as well if you want to follow along

I also tried several options and Logo still appears bigger during the first part of the boot. i start to believe it might be related to the Gigabyte Bios. Most people who report this issue have GA Mobos.

Thanks for trying to help :) . I'm actually following that guide and tried those patches, but still getting stuck. Was trying to see if I could just find someone else's Ryzen based EFI.zip so I could compare / see where I went wrong. Cheers!

Ah I see, if you're looking for help I recommend the AMD discord. We have a dedicated OpenCore chat for it if you'd rather troubleshoot there
