Thanks for the video tutorial but as far as I know this keyboard shortcut is only available in macOS Sierra 10.12.6 and newer, for the earlier versions of macOS Sierra or Mac OS X we still need to use the terminal commands or 3rd party apps.

well in Siera and High Sierra it's working for sure. I don't have any older system here, so can't confirm or not on older systems

don't know why all the fuss? I have always used showHiddenFiles. I have used it since Leopard thru Mojave.

Why you eed extra app for anything that can be done in just a keyboard shortcut. Easy and fast.
