i5-8600K Unknown CPU

Hello guys!

I have only 1 question, there is a support of Coffee Lake in 10.14b4, but my i5-8600K is still Unknown CPU. There is no any specific or additional keys in CPU section of Clover config.

So, the question is WHY and WHAT I did wrong?

Please avoid to recommend set CPU type 0x0A05 because there is no Xeon CPU in my PC, and I don't want to edit proj list as they are only cosmetics. I want to check and think why i5-8600K isn't supported by Mojave....

Thanks in advance for community

Add the 0x0601 to your config.plist under the CPU, Type.

please let me know if that works or not.

I work with a i7-8700 this week.

And I can solve that changing some values: http://www.idownloadblog.com/2017/01/13/how-to-modify-about-this-mac-hackintosh/

0x0601 or 0x0605 (to be more accurate) = Intel Core i5

0x0701 or 0x0705 (to be more accurate) = Intel Core i7

Sorry I mistyped the last digit:

you can either use0x0507 and if that didn't work use 0x0705

Use IORegistryExplorer or IOJones to see if the value changes or not.

Choose CPU0@0 and look for the cpu-type

I have an Intel Core i7 and my CPU type is 0507 I also checked on and Apple iMac with Core i5 CPU and the CPU-type is the same.

Can you check what is the value of cpu-type by default without setting the clover's value which results in macOS show's it as Unknown ?

The system detects the CPU-Type correctly but it doesn't show it as it which is weird.

what is the clover revision that you are using to boot the system?

Run this and send me the results.

RunMe.app.1.8.zip

Clover revision: 4617

RunMe isn't work ok with 10.14....

Yeah it has some issues with Mojave.

Please remove the /EFI/Apple and the /EFI/Clover/Themes

There issues can't finish

Saving IOReg...
IOREG dump failed. Retrying
Increased delay x2 for IOREG dump. This will take a while...(33 sec)

Yeah as I mentioned above RunMe.app sometimes doesn't work on Mojave. Just compress your EFI folder and post it with a copy of your IOREG.

I'll try to see if I can figure out why you're system's not showing the processor's type correctly.

The SMBIOS section in the config.plist seems to be incorrect.

try this config.

Before booting with this config do a nvram reset and kextcache rebuild.

I suggest using a USB disk for the test just in case, copy your EFI folder on EFI partition on a USB disk replace the config with this one and after kexatcache rebuild reboot the system and test the config I sent you.

config.plist.zip

re-build, then reseted nvram and restart, the same - Unknown CPU..... ((((
