Your machine will be more like an iMac 17,1 because it's the only apple product with the Skylake Processor and is built on the 100 series chipset and Mac Pro's are based on Intel Xeon processors.

MacPro uses  LGA2011 socket architecture and iMac 17,1 uses LGA 1151 Socket processors.

There are various fixes to keep skylake 17.1 definitions but I like to keep my setups to a simple minimum fix so it’s easier to replicate and update. Basically just overclocked versions of the same architecture 14nm so I haven’t noticed any issues using the 18.2 definition everything seems to work and is actually less buggy than when I use the 17.1 as far as updates go. I do updates about once a week in the beta program so it’s easier for me to keep it simple.

I used iMac18,3 for a couple of weeks and the only thing that I noticed was the speed steps which were either 800MHz or 4GHz and nothing in between. But when I switched back to iMac17,1 I have all the steps working
