Hey folks, im really new to "macing" out on my intel laptop. could someone please give me like a quick summary of getting the conaxant hda (VEN 14Fa, ID 5045) to work.

A step by step guide would be nice. As far as i read, i need the apple hda patcher, and a linux codec dump?

what else do i need?

i got the codec dump from this french website, but links to hda patcher in this thread are broken, surely due to hacking the site, few days ago.

could someone repost, stuff i need for 10.4.8 version?

thanks, you rock guys!

guys,

could someone please explain how i do a codec dump in linux, which i can drop on the hda patcher icon?

by the way, do i need to copy the AppleHDA.kext to /System/Library/... BEFORE i use HDA Patcher or does the program do the job for me, cause i saw that there is a kext in the zip.

regards,

I have a Sigmatel 9227 and I have installed the drivers available but for some odd reason sound does not seem to be coming out of the speakers I am connecting neither can I listen to the sound via a headphone too.Volume slider can be seen on the menu and everything but the only option available in the sound preferences menu is internal speaker and nothing else.Any help will be highly welcomed in this regard.

Hoping for a reply soon.

Taruga : Realtek ALC885 : works but port names are not right

sound out thru internal speakers, and headphone jack and mic input thru mic port but no internal mic yet.

(lappy is an alienware area-51 m5550)

great work once again!

heres my codec dump : ALC_885_Codec.txt

Thanks!

hello again Taruga!

heres the requested Screenie:

Okay heres the run down :

internal speakers are working from : Line Out

Headphones jack works when i select : Internal Speakers

Mic in works when i select : Headphones

Digital out should work cause its using the headphone jack under normal operation (i havent tested cause i dont have the cables)

If you can get the internal mic to work that would be great but not a pre-requisite, Thanks again!

"AppleHDA.kext failed to initialize : unable to locate layout-id property"

So, finally not work

Here's my codec dump. (got a ASUS M2N-E mobo)

Hi everyboy, i have a realtek alc260, does anybody knows how can i make my 10.4.8 (Jas Os) sound work??, i have downloaded the AppleHDAPatcher, but i really don't know what linux codec dump means. Can someone tell me how to make it? I have used linux before.

I have the same problem i'm pretty sure i did it right.I just dragged and dropped the alc260 codec dump into the ApplHDAPatcher icon put in my password and it didn't gave me any errors.I then did a permissions repair and rebooted, and now i'm able to change the volume but i still cant hear anything from the speakers or from the headphone jack.

Edit:My ps2 logitech mic works if thats helpful.

I downloaded AppleHDApatcher 1.16 and drag & drop sigmatel 9228 codec dump... with the hope that the sound will work, all seems fine till it instructed me to reboot but then my machine won't boot and said :

"You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button for several seconds or press the Restart button" with 3 other languages...

oh my god .... its just blue screen of death (or morelikely polite grey screen of death) mac style... ;)

can somebody please help ...

having the same problem here -_-

as soon as i type my password it crashes. using the .16 version of the patcher and OSX 10.4.9

Taruga... if you wish beta testers just PM me :(

i dump the codec from Xubuntu Linux

and use it on 1.15 Apple HDA Patcher release

(kernel 8.8.1 OsX 10.4.8)

its seems all who have this patch working, just work with few settings

or changes the pin adresses and only can get the sound work by the headphones

or others mixup

i have an ALC883

Hi Guys,

I'm running 10.4.9 on my system that's listed in my sig. I have tried every single one of the HDA patchers and every single one of them causes a kernel panic.

I upgraded to 10.4.9 to try the version 1.16 out but still no success. Is there anything that you guys can suggest?

I'm trying to get this Sigmatel 9223 chip working.

Cheers.

Hi there, im trying to activate the Sigmatel 9200 on my toshiba m400 tablet pc in an install of uphuck's 10.4.9 release, I think though that the kernel is 8.9.1 rather than the 8.8.1 that Taruga specified, although I have seen a few posts suggesting that it can work with the kernel im using... Ive attached a codec dump of my card, ive tried it with versions .13 thru to .16 with the result of occasional kernel panics on reboot and the sound driver control panel stating 'No output device found'

Does anybody know how or whether it would help to swap my 8.9.1 kernel for a 8.8.1 and what would be the result of this - would it not create allsorts of issues with other things that are already working - I had to mess inside a kext to get the tablet working and also both cores,, is there any other way of installing a sigmatel card?

cheers
