Hello, i am on mini itx hackintosh with Asus z170i Pro Gaming - 6700k - Gtx 1070.

Everything works a part from integrated onboard wireless. I have the bluetooth that recognize devices like my mouse but it can't connect, so it seems to not works.

There is a way, a kext to install or something to have at list the onboard wifi working on this board?

Thanks

btw, Skylake use iMac17,1, not MacPro5,1

hello, I am using MacPro 5,1 because I run a Gtx 1070 Pascal Video card and Nvidia driver says that the machine must be MacPro 5,1 or 6,1.

If I change to iMac17,1 will wifi works? and will 1070 Gtx still works?

send me your IOReg using so I can see if it's working with your wifi adapter or not.

No problem,

I'll get back to you on that.

You don't have to use MacPro SMBIOS just for your nVidia adapter, I use the same graphic adapter and I use iMac17,1 SMBIOS, all you have to do is to add nVidiaFixUp.kext and Lilu.kext to your kext folder in clover.

/EFI/Clover/kexts/10.12

Ok thanks, where can I get the kexts you said?

Only to understand, will the system runs better if I change to iMac17,1 ?

nVidiafixup.kext

https://sourceforge.net/projects/nvidiagraphicsfixup/

Lilu.kext

https://github.com/vit9696/Lilu

MacPros don't have Skylake CPUs inside but the latest iMac17,1 has a Skylake processor, it's better to use the iMac17,1 SMBIOS to get the full utilization of the skylake architecture, and it has a better chance for power management on skylake processors.

EDIT:

if the link for lily.kext didn't work try this one:

MacPro5,1 is a "Bloomfield, Westmere, Gulftown"

SMBIOS is not a cosmetic ;)

Load correct profile, good PM, etc

No problem dude :)

We're all learning new stuff everyday :)

I can't find any useful info on your wifi chipset go to the following URL : https://sourceforge.net/projects/dpcimanager/

download the DPCIManager and run it and send me a snapshot so I can find out your wifi's device ID

Click the PCI list and click update IDs then make a snapshot and post it here, justify the columns so I can read the whole info.

Ok now it's better, I will get back to you on that.

It's Qualcomm Atheros 168C:003E

just to make sure that the info is correct remove FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_Broarcom_WiFi.kext from EFI/clover/kext and make another screenshot.

OK,

Here goes nothing :D

I'm not sure if it's gonna work or not because I don't have the same mainboard as you but it is worth a shot

You have to copy the file I attached inside /System/Library/Extensions/ BUT BEFROE YOU DO make a copy of "IO80211Family.kext" to your desktop and then replace the existing file with the one I posted, after that run "Kext Utility" to fix the permissions of the "Extensions" folder then reboot your computer and see if your wifi is working. Hopefully it works!

Fingers Crossed!

Don't forget to copy the original file to your desktop for replacing it if it didn't work.

No luck :(

Unfortunately it does not work. I noticed that in the system / extension folder there is also a file called "IO80211FamilyV2.kext" .

I don't know if it does matter..

Anyway thanks a lot for your help!!

Oh that's too bad! :(

Bummer, but I found a thread that might be helpful http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/312045-atheros-wireless-driver-os-x-101112-for-unsupported-cards/page-1

wow I followed the links, it seems that for some peoples it works! I'd like to do on myself, but It is not a simple kext installer.. But really I don't understand how to do it.

well actually I looked through the posts but not in depth and for some people it works and fro some people it doesn't.

try using the file in this post: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/312045-atheros-wireless-driver-os-x-101112-for-unsupported-cards/?p=2279677

Update:

Test this one

Open terminal after you replaced the kext file and run each command one by one then reboot.

1. sudo nvram -c

2. sudo purge
3. sudo rm -f /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/kernelcache && sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u /
4. sudo update_dyld_shared_cache -force

IO80211Family.kext.zip
