klaupacius
VLC now works due to 10.4.3 update. The reg unibin http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/X86_software#VLC for VNC works with 10.4.3 update or JaS's? Since update VLC crashes when opening any file .avi .wmv I'm trying the one posted in this thread now. capri91
I've compiled VLC_20050924_x86_bin.dmg including MPEG-1,2 video codec, AAC audio codec, DVD libraries. JaS's precompiled VLC is just mirror link... I didn't update 10.4.3 yet, I'm still using 10.4.1 now. If precompiled VLC crashes with 10.4.3, I'll compile the update version of VLC soon. Please let me know... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/3212-how-to-commercial-dvd-playback/page/2/#findComment-28577 Share on other sites

ghw9132
This might be a stupid question, but where do I find the Mac DVD Player. It's seems not to be installed on my system. With 10.4.1 DVD, it is not installed. (might be in a package somewhere on the dvd, not sure). It is included on the Deadmoo vmware image and also with 10.4.3. sambo60
I can't get this to work right. On 10.4.3 the dvd playback worked, but now I'm using 10.4.5, and vlc plays wma fine, but immediately closes when trying to play a dvd. The ppc version of vlc runs the dvd but very slowly. Can someone help me with this? I would really like to be able to use this as a dvd player..... sambo60
I downloaded the march 10th file from http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/macosx-intel/. Is that what I should be using? sambo60
What is very interesting is that the developers are posting good results over at videolan forums for the march 10th build. It's still crashing for me though. Do you need to have QE or CI for it to work on 10.4.5? Can someone else please try it out? macgirl
Maybe they don't have 10.4.5 yet, In my 10.4.3 it worked fine, even that I have a no QE CI card. EDIT: The VLC posted in this thread worked on my 10.4.5 OS: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...pic=2884&hl=vlc Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/3212-how-to-commercial-dvd-playback/page/2/#findComment-73744 Share on other sites
sambo60
Strange. I'm running 10.4.5 on an nfor4 ultra and an amd x2 4800+ and I can't get vlc to work right, though I will try once more tonight. the ppc version worked fine btw just too slow... mplayer is good on my machine, but I need the deinterlace options or it doesn't look good. Does mplayer have any options like that (like vlc does)?
