Early in 2013 I became obsessed with the idea of "sectioning" a G5 Power Mac to make it smaller but retain the flavor of the Apple design.  The first photo is the photoshop of the concept that my son did for me.

I started work on the project in April after a few other chores (tax returns among them) and spent some time almost everyday working on the project and finally completed in July.  The following are photos of the completed project.

Doing this project also gave me the inspiration to do the "System on Slides" also documented in the forum.

And so that you can see that I am a serious hacker, here is the line-up of hackintoshed Apple cases that I have done.  The SOS came after this photo was taken.

The Short Stack.

This system has had OS X 10.8.n followed by Mavericks and now is on Yosemite.

It has a Gigabyte GA-Z77MX-D3H TH with a i7-3770K and 16GB DDR3 1600MHz and twin SanDisk 120 GB SSDs in a RAID 0 along with a 1TB data HDD.  Video is by a GeForce GTX 650 TI.  Powered by a 350 watt server PSU selected for low noise and narrow form factor.

Good modding,

neil
