naujoks
My USB 3 ports have stopped working. They were working just fine under the beta versions. Installed various drivers to be found around the net, but to no avail. My system: P67 Sabertooth Asus mobo, Resneas USB 3 ports, Clover install. Everything else is working normally. Has anyone had a similar problem and managed to fix it?
ric6121824
My situation is like yours. It was updated, not clean installed. My USB3.0 works when I boot into installation normally from my Yosemite installation USB drive,But when I try to have a normal boot, the USB3.0 fails.the GenericUSBXHCI.kext doesn't work, it even makes the boot into installation from usb fail. luki1979
You guys will be surprised how much could be fixed just by running Kext Utility and let it repair the permissions after fresh install.
naujoks
You guys will be surprised how much could be fixed just by running Kext Utility and let it repair the permissions after fresh install. Of course that happened automatically when I manually deleted the USB3 kext and re-installed it again using Kext Utility. To no avail.

naujoks
I just discovered that the GenericUSBHCI.kext was loaded after all. Deleted it once and for all, repaired all permissions and cleared all caches, and it's working now. I spoke too soon. It worked exactly once. Now back to not working again. Sisilkounet
Hey, i have the same issue as you, Usb not working fine after upgrade to Yosemite. A quick search on google learn me that many people using real mac have same kind of problem with Usb, after upgrading to Yosemite. maybe an official update from apple could solve this. But maybe i'm dreaming...
Hyper2014
I had the same problem with GenericUSBXHCI.kext. 4 ports USB 3.0, but worked only one. Tried binary patch: Find: C680S800000001 Replace: C6800000000 Name: AppleUSBXHCI also didn't help... In the end, all 4 ports 3.0 works fine with Fake ID <key> XHCI </ key> <string> 0x0c033000 </ string>
naujoks
Could you elaborate on that, please? I never had to have anything to do with FakeID...

naujoks
I've just tried this, but it's still not working for me. Without the GenericUSB kext none of my USB3 ports are showing up at all. With that kext they show up, but don't work.

With that kext they show up, but don't work. Try this new generic GenericUSBxHCI 2014 USB3-2014-1016 1.2.8d9
naujoks
With this kext the USB3 ports at the back of my PC are working now, not the one at the front. That will do for now though, so it's all good. Thank you! EDIT: On second boot all USB3 ports are working now, so everything working perfectly. marcelol
Try this new generic GenericUSBxHCI 2014 USB3-2014-1016 1.2.8d9 Will this work with ExpressCards based on the NEC u720200 chipset? i.e. as a replacement for PXHCD.kext?
ric6121824
All the solution discuss above do not work for me, 2 minutes waiting still needed.I've copy the new generic into /kexts/10.10/and also change the FakeID <XHCI> to 0x0c033000but they don't help.
