USB 3 ports not working

All the solution discuss above do not work for me, 2 minutes waiting still needed.

 

I've copy the new generic into /kexts/10.10/

and also change the FakeID <XHCI> to 0x0c033000

but they don't help.

Need to use some kind one method. Generic.kext or FakeID. I use Fake ID and in config FixUSB1000 - YES.

these steps worked for me

sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/GenericUSBXHCI.kext

sudo touch /System/Library

followed by a reboot.

 

If you reboot immediately it will take some time because it will still be rebuilding the cache. So don't reset and just let it do its thing.
