Hi MaLdOn,

I have a stable 10.5.8 running on an Asus P5LD2-VM DH with an existing DSDT.aml.

Thinking about moving to SL but wanted to understand the improvements with DSDT understanding, etc.

I have attacked send_me.zip for my system if you can gen an auto-patcher for it...

Thx

you must need a kext for this

I suppose so,may be the problem is the dvd drive(sony optiarc 7530b).I googled for it and found,that many people had problems under windows, no one had success in mac os. Anyway thank you for your efforts and Happy new year.

Thank you for resolving my shutdown / restart issues!

I have a GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard (Lifehacker guide) that ~was~ working perfectly for nearly a year, then for some reason it would NOT shutdown or restart. Using this patch the issues are now RESOLVED!

Thank you! Happy New Year! :glare:

Use this DSDT

has the "obligatory" fixs

I tried setting the Device (RTC) in the DSDT to 0x02 instead of 0x04 (it was only listed in one spot) but this did not help with the Sleep/Shutdown. Restart works though.

HeHeHe

Fix CMOS RESET ;)

Device (RTC)
               {
                   Name (_HID, EisaId ("PNP0B00"))
                   Name (ATT0, ResourceTemplate ()
                   {
                       IO (Decode16,
                           0x0070,             // Range Minimum
                           0x0070,             // Range Maximum
                           0x00,               // Alignment
                           0x02,               // Length
                           )
                   })
                   Name (ATT1, ResourceTemplate ()
                   {
                       IO (Decode16,
                           0x0070,             // Range Minimum
                           0x0070,             // Range Maximum
                           0x00,               // Alignment
                           0x04,               // Length
                           )
                   })

I would test another GPU

ATT0 was set to 0x02. I had set the ATT1 to 0x02 from 0x04. I replaced the FakeSMC.kext with a fakesmc.kext I had before and Sleep/Restart/Shutdown is working. It may be the combination of the two. Not sure but its working now.

The only thing now is native Sound. When I have some time and the right tools I'll have to figure out a way to get it working with AppleHDA.kext instead of VoodooHDA. Really don't like the sound assertions and humming I sometimes get.

Thanks for all the help. Hopefully we can get this board tweaked.

your DSDT is original?

I do not think so

you are using a modified DSDT?

send me

run on terminal

perl -e 'open(CMD, "ioreg -lw0 \| grep DSDT|") or die; while(<CMD>) { chomp; if($_ =~ /\"DSDT\.?\d?\"=<([^>]*)>/) { $buff = $1; open(PIP, "|xxd -r -p > ~/Desktop/dsdt.aml") or die; print PIP "$1"; } }'

No, since I wasn't able to create a good DSDT I've used one modified for GA-EP45-UD3L.

All seems to work fine except for shutdown, this fails 8 out of 10 times (all goes down but the fans keep running).

I'm not sure how to get an 'unmodified' DSDT?

"Extract from Windows

use everest"

THANKS -, but general question they steps using windows/everest (or other tools) to get unmodded dsdt.aml:

If i boot chameleon RC 5 (with dsdt.aml) and set Windows for boot partition - doesnt that modified dsdt.aml overwrites the normal one and therefor everest would extract the dsdt.aml contet insted the orig. BIOS dsdt ?

Or does chameleon + dsdt.aml only effects OS X boot (dsdt extract under OS X gives modded dsdt)

the dsdt.aml will be read only in OSX

Windows

if it is extracted is always the original

unless we use biosmod

but using biosmod we can not remove devices among other things

;)
