well I got it working and my usb and webcam issue is sorted so many thanks for that!

the only problem is that it will only boot in ignore caches mode when I boot verbose there is some problem with the voodoops2controller and then it hangs at pci configuration.

I tried deleting the caches and resetting the permissions and running kextutulity but the problem remains that i can only boot with the -f option. also sleep is not working

Hi ive tried removing cpu null again and it resetted my bios(checksum error again) ooooopppps!

might just leave it if the only thing im going to gane is sleep, as i already have an external sound card.

Do you think its even worth trying to get it to work?

Im on lion GM if that makes a difference + 889a doesnt even show up in midi settings.

im not sure if my dsdt is even doing anything, how would i check to see?

Nope

you are in a bind

I run cinebench but it view only 2 cores (i have I5 2400 4 cores) and the performance is 4.88 points... is normal?

The gpu test is very bad, only 6,7 fps! I have gtx465, is not normal, where is the problem? I use the official nvidia drivers v256

Attach my ssdt

P.S. i set the model to macpro 3.1 and now i have 33fps! Only the problem of the cores remain

The activity is for 4 cores! But during test cinebench use 8 treads (the correct is not 4x4 16?)

The score 5 points is not too low?

Mald0n!

Using your latest dsdt, and have some feedback!

It's going pretty well, did the applertc patch for the cmos reset in lion, and at least for now I can experiment more without that in the way, I have a feeling I'm going to love this system.

I'm a huge fan of sleep, since my computer is in a server closet. :)

The latest dsdt is a step in the right direction but weird things are happening, all my usb peripherals from apple are totally unusable after waking up. My wacom tablet and old 10$ keyboard from 10 years ago come back fine. Magic Mouse bluetooth is a no go aswell.

Here's a new send me, the wake portion is very odd in kernel.log :

Mac-Pro kernel[0]: Wake reason: ethernet (Network)

I swore I used the KB to wake.

Cosmetics: My hard drive icons are removable disks

Using smbios.plist from macpro3,1 is this ok for a z68 2600k?

One last thing ;) Can't seem to get audio working like my previous system. On my previous build just download a applehda from kexts.com and my dsdt and that was enough. I'd like that "vanilla" solution a lot. Pointers?

thx! Hope all this helps a future version of the auto patcher (which is what I used on my previous machine p5k-e)

Nope

4+4

16 = 8 core HT(DUAL XEON FOR EXAMPLE)

Chameleon to enable HPET along with the right definition? No need for new dsdt?

HPET fix ok in your DSDT

Mald0n, we're definitely getting somewhere here.

I just realized that my bluetooth dongle is messing with sleep

If it's plugged in, computer wakes but video doesn't come up until I click on the old 10$ mouse.

Probably incompatible, so let's forget it for now.

The big issue now is that my keyboards are unresponsive unless I plug them back in.

Get this in -v

AppleUSBCDC: start - initDevice failed

Tried all the ports in the machine... may have lost sound also?

The audio part was a typo here

"layout-id",

/**** Is ResourceTemplate, but EndTag not at buffer end ****/ Buffer (0x04)

{

0x79, 0x03, 0x00, 0x00

},

should have been

"layout-id",

/**** Is ResourceTemplate, but EndTag not at buffer end ****/

Buffer (0x04)

{

0x79, 0x03, 0x00, 0x00

},

Stiff have to replug the keyboards though

EDIT : Audio motherboard spdif : I can see in the profiler that you added some outputs, but what is your preferred way to pass this along so that I can select the output in system preferences?
