dsp
I use the EasyEFI 2.1 bootdisc to be able to install OSX 10.6 retail. DVI to HDMI to TV perfectly works for 10.6 with, or without the EFI String or kext. If I update to 10.6.4, DVI:HDMI -> TV won't work anymore and freeze if connected. If it's connected while booting up, the screen goes black and nothing happens. I've tried GraphicsEnabler=Yes which doesn't work. I've tried the EFI Strings for my GTS250, doesn't work ( at least not DVI:HDMI out ) I've tried several kexts, that didn't work too. Can someone please help me find a solution? Thanks! pirloui
Apparently all g92 based cards have this problem, the only way out is some trickery with nVinject or so that will leave you with an extra ghost monitor. I had to swap to VGA.
sephira
Yup same problem here with gtx285m when using anything above 10.6.2. So i just stick with that. Not ideal but cant live without my ext. monitor.
dsp
So, it's just not me? I've tried to reinstall it in 100 different ways, because some people believed that it would do the trick, I've read about the problem all over google, and when it comes to a sollution, no one seems to know the answer. There must be a way, right? Anyone tried it on 10.6.5 yet?
pirloui
There must be a way, right?Anyone tried it on 10.6.5 yet? I hope there is; as it's a really stupid problem. My main monitor (a Benq) is nice except it doesn't have DVI at all; which is really stupid. HDMI as a whole is pretty much {censored} IMO; it's just DVI with DRM and barely compatible Audio. With a weak connector.
dsp
Anyone got this working yet? Seems to me this could be frequency problem, not too sure. In 10.6 I could change my monitors frequency to 50Hz and whenever I connect my TV to my graphics card it would change to 50Hz by default. In 10.6.4 50Hz and some other frequencies seems to be unavailable or greyed out. My point is, when I connect my TV to my graphics card and switches to 50Hz by default, maybe that causes a conflict. NVEnabler64 & Co is just a pain, no QE here and fans are blowing at full speed when I use this kext with a VGA "ghost monitor" attached to it. It does work, but it's not something you would likely be willing to use. So please check out your frequency options and tell me what hardware you use and what frequencies you're able to use in 10.6.4.
KTC
Anyone tried it on 10.6.5 yet? Yes I've tried the 10.6.5.............. I've got the black screen with Asus 9800GT, Zotac GTX285 and Asus GTX295 dual pcb.............
dsp
This doesn't make any sense. 10.6 proved that HDMI is working on my card, and pretty damn good too. 10.6.1 Havent tried it yet. 10.6.2 Has the same issue. 10.6.3 Havent tried it, but should have the same issue. 10.6.4 Tried, same issue. 10.6.5 Tried, same issue. There must be a change between 10.6 / 10.6.1 / 10.6.2 that causes the problem. I wonder, are there by any chance any detailed blueprints of the updates? I get the feeling apple just blocked this to hackintosh users. Both my Graphics card and TV are HDCP capable. VGA might be working, I've read about it. But I am not downgrading to a VGA quality image on my TV. 10.6.2 Graphics fixes provided for: ▪ an issue when connecting monitors to DVI and Mini DisplayPort adapters ▪ an issue in which the brightness setting may not be remembered on restart ▪ addresses functionality with specific display models ▪ general reliability and performance improvements when using some applications ▪ this update addresses video playback and performance issues for iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2009) and iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) computers that may occur in some situations while AirPort is turned on
Liquid Ice
10.6.5 made it worst. I was using an Nvidia 8800gt Mac rom inject. and it doesnt work anymore. I am assuming nvinject uses the same principles so it is also broken.
lovetoby
hmm, not the answer i was looking for... ive got 3 cards and they are all based on g92 chips... im using 10.6.2 which works damn good with efi and or dsdt... with all 6monitors connected via vga and dvi-hdmi but when it comes to > 10.6.2 nothing is working as long as i switch my connector to vga only or dvi-vga... THIS is no option because of 4screens come with highres above 1080p... tooo crappy with vga so maybe someone got the gpu rom thing working with more than 1 card?? i only get one card running using nvinject or nvenabler + roms but i really need more than 2 screens
dsp
What the point of repeating my Question? I know lots of people are having the same problem. It doesn't help to say "I have the same problem" I know, but I need a solution, not other people with the same problem
dsp
Does anyone still dares to find a solution, or has it become totaly taboo due to the amount of exploded heads?
Liquid Ice
Does anyone still dares to find a solution, or has it become totaly taboo due to the amount of exploded heads? Anyone ? working on a solution. 4XX GTX cards arent support 100% yet this leaves very limited options for people that need the HDMI connect.
