o1o1
Looking into a small hackintosh build and wonder if anyone have tried the Gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3 mini-ITX togheter with a i5-660 processor? Any input appreciated. http://www.gigabyte.eu/Products/Motherboar...?ProductID=3455
BoredMatt
I'm also looking at getting this board, but probably with an i3 instead of the i5, but you never know. Has anyone managed to get 10.6.4 working on this board? Cheers.
lzthqx
All but ethernet thus far. 10.6.4 using ##### and #####. nVidia 9400PCIe as well. Tristan.
The ethernet drivers from http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloads...p;GetDown=false work for this board when running under 32-bit. no 64-bit support as of yet. If someone gets the time to update the RealtekR1000SL to include the new code for the rtl8111e then we'll have 64-bit support, but until then the 32-bit seems to run fine for me. Only other issue i'm having is USB is unresponsive after reboot (i.e. i can't use my usb keyboard, and os x spews out errors while trying to boot), but a press of the reset button fixes this. sudseh
I have tried for days to get this mother board working it would be great to get a detailed procedure on how. I am in the same boat (i5-655 processor with on-board graphics). Retail upgrade 10.6.3 DVD, loads start x_64 (or x86 with the -x32 option), and then reboots. Any thoughts on the install would be great. >> just tried to go the ##### way, but it hangs at "boot:" before loading the kernel. raymonty
CPU i3-340 with integrated graphics 4 G RAM, using the Intel onboard graphics. I have progressed but not as much as I would of liked. Most of the hardware on this board is not supported on my setup, still working on it. Make sure your bios is at F4. also you can follow this www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=495. It would be great if some one uses all the onboard hardware and adds a write up.
Synthetickiller
I am also trying to get a hackintosh working w/ an i5 760 and gtx260. I have tried a few version of 10.6.2 and I have no luck. Booting from a sata slimline drive causes a quick restart. Booting from a usb dvd drive gives this: System config file '/com.apple.Boot.Slist' not found. It's a known working disc, so I figure its a hardware issue. @ lzthqx Could you give us a walkthrough? I need to buy a DL DVD since I don't own any to burn the retail version. I think there's a lot of people out there who would love to know!
lzthqx
Well, I have sadly removed this board from the case in favour of another GigaByte board as no ethernet drivers actually work (even the above linked ones). The drivers light up the board in the config screen, then immediately switch to (Disconnected). It appears as though there is no power to the onboard nic with any drivers I have tried and there are no activity or connect led's lit on the physical interface. That said, I have seen several references to this issue and it may be fixed in the future with a DSDT file perhaps. I simply used ##### with a retail DVD of SnowLeopard, ran the 10.6.4 update package, then before quitting the upgrader, I ran #####. I selected supported kernel (easy beast), and added VooDooHDA. This gave me a fully functional system with the exception of the ethernet as mentioned. One note, the BIOS must have the sata controller set to AHCI. And even with that, I have had issues with the boot loader and HDDs over 1T. Cheers, lzthqx
