Hi Guys,

I've been a osx86 user for a while now and very pleased with it. For the record this is my machine and what i did:

ASUS P5LD2, ASUS X700 vid, 2GB Geheugen, 3GHZ 1MB cache P4 intel.

So i downloaded GoatsecX 10.4.6 iso and burn and installed it on my seperate 20GB HD.

I have a SSE3 enabled processor so i did the advanced install first with SSE3 only.

Installed fine, BUT when it reboots i get scrolling text on my screen and then a blank screen followed by a reboot, and do this over and over. So tried it with over and still no succes.

When i install STANDAARD it all works fine and OSX boots oke BUT in my system profile it says SSE2.... but NO SSE3. It also says i have a 3.8 GHZ.

Now my problem !!!!!!:

So far i think my osx installation emulates SSE3 and not really uses it. IT THAT TRUE ?!?

If it emulates, how can i make it pure SSE3 and shall i have a performance boost ?!?

i read about patches and stuff but i don't get it how to exactly do it !

Is it a GoatSECX problem ?! so when i download a other iso it will work and what iso to download then ?

Mac Os X 10 4 6 [Demonoid] <- i saw it on TORRENTSPY, what kinda version is this ? 1.9 GB ?

Please help, im STUCK ! and MAC-ADDICTED !

the torrent you saw in demonoid is a hard disk image, it is installed like the 10.4.1 (deadmoo) image, but it is version 10.4.6. I'm currently using that image on my pc and it works perfect(after using dvds that never worked).

JaS 10.4.6 DVD will definitely provide SSE3 support. I mean JaS has a SSE3 cpu... ;)

Probably Goatsecx 10.4.6 DVD has SSE3 support too. But you need the install DVD not some HD image...

What we need is a newer kernel that can detect newer dual-core sse3 processors properly. Perhaps it's the same identification crisis problem as with amd x2 sse3-processors which just won't report sse3 ability at kernel initialization.
