I'm running 10.4.6 with Ati Radeon 9550, have patched the ATIRadeon9700.kext to have QE/CI, replaced the IPPCIFamily.kext to have cube effect, and using mouse locator to fix the mouse tearing problem. But everytime when exitting from Sim City, mouse mouse disappear from the screen, replaced by a single horizontal blur line across my screen. Does anybody know how to fix this ? 2. I notice that often when I launch the PPC program, the color displayed for the first time in the program is wrong, like becoming light purple, so I have to activate expose or dashboard to make it right. How do I fix this ? belgrano Posted June 18, 2006 Share Posted June 18, 2006 For the first problem: if you use Mouse Locator with ShadowMouse picture, you have a shadow for cursor (even if the cursor is not visible when you exit the full screen app). Go to System Preferences and change the resolution back and forth. The mouse should appear on the screen. quixos Posted June 24, 2006 Share Posted June 24, 2006 with shadow mouse cursor, you will be able to see to "toggle" your Display Refresh rate in System Preferences. change your Refresh Rate up, or down, then back again to your prefered rate, and the lines will disappear. It's worth trying it. About your color problem with PPC programs under Rosetta, try to disable Quartz Extreme 2D if it's enabled. About your color problem with PPC programs under Rosetta, try to disable Quartz Extreme 2D if it's enabled. So I have a situation here, disabling the QE2D will reduce graphics performance, but having it enabled will cause color problem with PPC programs running under Rosetta, is there any better option ? quixos Posted July 12, 2006 Share Posted July 12, 2006 as much as everyone goes on about Quartz Extreme 2D, i've never noticed a speed difference in my GUI using either gma900, or x800xt. i don't think it's significant enough to bother with. just a thought, do you actually notice a difference in the speed that windows minimize to dock, screensavers, games etc? Do you know why ?
