M0000000000 Posted September 1, 2009 Share Posted September 1, 2009 it's been a while Well it's been only minutes since I've gotten it working, but after a few days of just toying around with installing and getting kernel panics i've finally been able to get into Snow leopard and be able to register and mess around it i installed it with by restoring the .dmg to an empty partition used chameleon 2 rc1 (didn't even need pc_efi) after the install is finish didn't reboot, but replaced IOATAFamily.kext with the one from my leopard install (if that doesn't work try deleting it) and deleted the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext and then booted using: -f (that's it!) it's a start and hopefully update this with more good news soon Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/183217-successful-snow-leopard-106-install-on-a-dell-vostro-1400/ Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have burned OSX10.6 to DVD, but when I use boot123 CD to boot and then place snow DVD 10.6, it gets stuck at DarwinX86 and nothing happens after that. Paween Posted September 7, 2009 Share Posted September 7, 2009 I used Snow Universal 3.5 pacakge. It make my Dell Vostro 1310 great! Display is fine. Wireless patch by bcm43xx_enabler.sh is fine as well. I'm looking for sound alc268. And I can't patch DSDT, so my bios has been reset every shutdown time. I currently have iatkos 5i installed, it was such a breeze. Why dont you guys (who successfully installed SL) write a simple guide for us 1400 owners. Copy and Paste steps from other pages if needed, would really appreciate it. Didn't work... Do you know if those guys used the DSDT patch? Or did they use a custom SMBIOS?
