Rossini
Has anybody tried it yet? Yep. Tried it. Installed SL on external USB Drive. The internal Disks are not available (cause i switched in BIOS to RAID). But my System just stopp working sometimes (i think its the external usb drive, in Leopard i got the same problem on this drive) I'm going to write tonight (now i'm at work ;-) ) what i did to get SL up and running. Maybe someone can help me with my problem ;-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/181799-snow-leopard-on-asus-p6t/#findComment-1236362 Share on other sites

Rossini
Hey ... well ... back again and not very happy I managed to install SL on my Asus P6T. Everything you need is in the file i attached. How i did it: In Leopard i partitioned my external HDD with two partitions (GUID). First partition called "Snow", seconde temp. Then i restored the SL install disk to the temp partition. After that i installed Chameleon RC1 to Snow and replaced the boot file with the boot file in my attachment. Copy everything in my file to the root of Snow. Then reboot and in Chameleon choose the temp partition. Install should boot fine and you can install SL on the Snow partition. Maybe you have to change the UUID in PlatformUUID.kext and change the requirements for you grafix. I was able to boot when grafix, uuid and the Extensions.mkext were allright. But i have a lot of problems: AHCIPortInjection doesnt work how it supposed to do. My DVD-Drive very often hangs and in System Profiler or Disk Utility i get spinning beachball. I also can't get rid of the hangs were SL freezes but when this happens i can move the mousecursor anyway. Maybe someone can help me. PS.: Is it possible to enable the ethernet controller with DSDT.aml patch? PPS.: Sorry for my bad english. Good Day
neonized, i can only boot into single user mode and any operation takes at least one minute installed from Leopard, with Chameleon, DSDT, PC EFI, all required kexts etc same result on any kexts variation - system hang at boot with errors: AppleAHCIDiskQueueManager::setPowerState(0x6f7e700 , 2 -> 1) timed out IOAHCIBlockStorageDriver: could not recover SATA HDD after 5 attempts, terminating however 10.5.8 works like a charm this seems to be related to AHCI drivers P6T has ICH10R, not ICH10 to prove this, i plugged hdd into external USB enclosure and it worked have Snow running on external drive however, i need to put hdd back into case, so digging further btw, some people on OCZ forums may swear that the only factor to make Snow hang, it is ... HEAT http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/sh...ad.php?p=406819 quaza, last week i tried all the kexts in your file with no luck system still hang at boot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/181799-snow-leopard-on-asus-p6t/#findComment-1239347 Share on other sites
passw
Hi... Everything work good here... Except from: My external system disks do halt when trying to read the content. halt will go away if SYSTEM disk read something. Audio and 7900GT work great. Snow leopard feel much more solid then 10.5.8. Use the GUIDES that is around. but MOST IMPORTANT: Look for bootloader2.dmg and use it when booting... When everything runs as it should witn no KPs install Chamelen v2 RC1 and PCEFI10.1 boot. Good Luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/181799-snow-leopard-on-asus-p6t/#findComment-1239449 Share on other sites

Master Chief
Wouldn't it be nice, for a change, to give credit to the hard working community members, the people who provided the kexts and tools people here are using? I'm sure that you'll agree with me, because without these good people... we would be nowhere! wziard
I've successfully installed 10.6 on my P6T / Core i7 / GTS 250, everything seems to be working except I can't get IDE drives to show up. Not a big issue for me since I don't use them but if anyone finds a fix please post it. Also at the moment the sound doesn't work but I think I know how to fix it. Later tonight I'll write up an in-depth guide on how to install SL, now that I've figured out all the right bootloader and kext settings to make it work with the P6T. callumj09
Hey, is there any news on the audio for this board? I'm using a Gigabyte board that has the same audio chipset/codec as this board (ICH10r/ALC888). The AppleHDA.kext from the old guide worked just fine in 10.5.x but now it doesn't work as Apple have apparently changed the structure of AppleHDA. Thanks! Searay_X
Ok guys & gals - I have a fully functional 10.6 on a P6T with NO mods to the OS disk - running internal from a 1TB Seagate with 32MB cache. If anyone is interested I will post a guide - I installed from a stock copy of the retail disk on a thumb drive (as in I copied my SL disk to a 8GB USB stick, left it stock and booted from my internal micro SD reader EFI loader and installed as if I was booting from the CD itself) The setup is as follows - Bios 0603 with an i7 920 - booting with a moded Chameleon V2 rc2 from a USB micro SD card (i like to keep the disk's stock) - I tried it with both an Nvidia GTX 285 Mac Edition and 9600GTOC video card and it runs flawless!!! UPDATE: Now on my i7975 with BIOS 0707 - see the guide It is FULLY functional - I can make a DMG of my EFI drive if anyone is interested (just remember to mod the PlatformUUID) and give instructions on how to make it bootable and the primary boot drive. IMHO, this is the best way to make use of PC EFI due to the fact that no patching on the OS drive is necessary AT ALL. I can take any of my 10.x drives and boot them in a real Mac Pro! However, I can NOT get it to function under an I7 975 with bios 07! I don't know if its the 975 or the bios version. It is going to be hard for me to tell at the moment since the v7 bios will not let you downgrade and my 975 is under a CoolerMaster heat-sink that you have to remove the entire board to remove cpu so if i update the other board and the bios version is the issue I'm screwed - my only choice is to go through the long process of removing the CPU from my 07 bios board and installing it on the 0603 and testing both. I will let you know when I find out which is the issue... Give me a day or two (maybe tonight) and I can post the files, guide and other "need to know" info. For now though I would refrain from going to the latest 07 bios as I feel this is without doubt the culprit - if it turns out to be the 975 Extreme then i doubt that this will be an issue for most as I don't personally know too many people using a processor that cost nearly $1000.00 - Let us hope for the community's sake that it's the 975 and not the v7 bios (although this will suck for me - LOL) Regards everyone, The guide is here!
