Swad
This is the continuation of the discussion at this thread (which took a different direction... but rocks nonetheless!): http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=17685 Several people noticed that the mouse button seems to "rock" in the middle and have two sensors beneath it. If this is true, and it's possible, it would be absolutely incredible if we could make a hack to use the single button right and left click. (gasp!) What we need: 1. A high res photo of the button and the sensors underneath it. 2. All the info we can gather about the way the button actually works and relates to the sensors. Anyone up for the challenge? (Says the one waiting patiently for merom to come so he can buy one of these things...) Greenwizard88
Is it just the MBP, or does the MB have this same "dual button" sort of mouse? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18122-hacking-the-mbp-mouse-button/#findComment-118189 Share on other sites
Swad
Not sure - it was mentioned on an MBP. See the first few posts in that thread. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18122-hacking-the-mbp-mouse-button/#findComment-118232 Share on other sites
digicide
My macbook also seems to have a sensor on each side of the mouse button. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18122-hacking-the-mbp-mouse-button/#findComment-118401 Share on other sites
-TiLT-
After a few hours, burrowed into google, I was unable to find any pictures of a fully disassembled MBP. Of course we could ask the owners of those "I reduced heat by removing the thermal paste and replaced it by a better one" MBP´s, but I do not think that they are willing to open up their MBPs again. Maybe if they drop in here. Maybe somone should check an Apple-Care-Center garbage can. user2
Is the touchpad a usb device? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18122-hacking-the-mbp-mouse-button/#findComment-118664 Share on other sites
Swad
This is the best one I could find... (from non sequitur's link) There's a casing that's covering up the two sensors although there are definitely two rivets on either side. Other thoughts?
