Can you buy it in the store yet? NO!

Do you want the manufacture of the os to fix the known exploits before it's released?

Friend, every software maker has to ship a product within a certain timeframe. This looks like GM to me. The fix, if needed, will come Day 1 of retail release as a software update. What bugs are you talking about?

you don't need a distribution ... here is how you can install SL by your own:

I did so from an existing Leopard installation:

0. mount SnowLeo Install Image

1. format & partition a new harddrive (my name: SNOWx) in GUID

2. set owner of harddrive to ignore (cmd-i)

3. in terminal: sudo chown 0:0 /Volumes/SNOWx

4. start in terminal and install: open /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ DVD/System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg

5. install Chameleon 2.0 RC1(!)

6. copy efi 10.1 boot file to snow harddrive

7. install Beta_decrypter_for_10a421a_32_64.pkg from netkas

8. install these kexts, found in Insanely forum:

JMicronATA.kext (x64)

Disabler.kext (x64)

VoodooHDA.kext (x64)

9. copy your old com.apple.Boot.plist (with e.g. 8800GT efi String) to /Extra on harddrive

10. copy your old DSDT.aml to /Extra and to root directory

11. copy a smbios.plist to /Extra and edit it to your needs

12. Restart with -v -x

13. use Kext Utility (found in Insanely Forum) directly when bootet with -x, use it as often in series until mkext is done by first attempt, if Kernel Panic, try again until it workz ... (needs 2 - 3 restarts with -x)

14. Reboot (-x32 or default -x64)

15. rename Disabler.kext and AppleIntelCPUPowerMangement.kext and use NullPowerManagement.kext (x64) ...

Update: finally, I've forgotten to mention, that the install method over terminal will not copy the SL packages to the new drive, so you can't repairPermissions ... but ... anywayssssssss ... :)

have fun ...

or make yourself a USB-Boot-Stick to boot from DVD:

Cham2r1+pc_efi10+dsdt.aml+dsmos.kext/ps2+Extensions.mkext

P.S. many thanks to NetKas and riws !!!
