scwhar
This whole thread is about them, use the bios settings from half way down the first page and the steps from Collingwoods first post.. don't install graphics drivers until after you've got it going, -x to boot till you've got em going. This whole thread is about what you're asking, no ones gonna write it out again for you, ask if you get stuck.

scwhar
P5QL/EPU BootCD I made this using BootCDmaker 1.6.1 http://darwinx86.org/software/darwinx86_software.html If you have a snow leopard install DVD this should let you install it without having to install Leopard first. As a test I burnt ISO in windows 7 and it worked. It uses the same kexts as I'm using now, with the exception of sleepenabler.kext, I left that out because you might want to update to 10.6.2 and the 10.6.1 version I'm on isn't compatible. The other file is my extra/extensions folder (much changed since the one I posted earlier)so that you can use that once you have installed chameleon to your harddrive or USB stick, the bootCD just uses an mkext (which would work fine but you can't alter it) You probably need to boot with -x until you have graphics drivers fixed, I think some Nvidia cards may work with graphicsenabler=y, but I'm on ATI HD 4850 so I don't know for sure. There is no DSDT.aml on this ISO but I discovered that snow will boot fine and recognize both cores without one, also sleep works without the _WAK fix i mentioned earlier (as long as you use sleepenabler, restart will not work after sleep) Seems we don't need DSDT with this board in 10.6 unless you want to get into vanilla speedstep etc. P5QL_EPU_Extra_Extensions.zip BootCD.iso.zip
yoyovip
Thank sweatyone for their support! Downloading 10.6. I will be tested in accordance with your tips, thank you!
scwhar
You're welcome yoyo. Have messed around with DSDT quite a bit, I've got vanilla speedstep working (saves energy and allows you to get rid of nullcpu and sleepenabler kexts) with help of Formerlyknownas' guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=181631 This is a little bit easy on this board as LPC seems to work without adding device ID. Also I just tried out Masterchefs new OSXRestart kext which seems to have fixed restart after sleep: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=199048 I would post up my DSDT but its a mess of half finished patches and you need to do the important bit specific to your CPU, if anyone has E7400 and wants a copy PM me for it. yoyovip
Thanks to the strong support of sweatyone! in your prompt, I did the installation and configuration using the beginning cannot escape, I removed some of the graphics program, you can enter the installation interface for the installation, proceed to 95% of the time, automatically stops the installation! scwhar
Are you using 10.6 DVD and the bootcd I posted here? And what are your system parts exactly?
fr4nk13
Hey Sweaty, I have the P5QL-VM EPU. Is this the same board? or do I have something different? I've been looking around everywhere for an exact match, and I can't find any documentation on the forum for the VM.
scwhar
Had a quick look at specs, totally different board sorry mate - you have onboard graphics differnt chipset, LAN and audio - everything except ICH10 and the IDE controller by the look of it. Search for G43, GMA X4500, RTL8112 and ALC887, I think most of it will work but you'll need to piece it together yourself. Graphics likely to be the big problem use a GFX card not the onboard, maybe get a basic install running then sort LAN, GFX and sound out afterwards.. Good luck Hey Sweaty, I have the P5QL-VM EPU. yoyovip
Thank you sweatyone strong support! 10.6 Snow Leopard successfully conducted the installation into the system to normal, the network normal, normal keyboard, mouse and normal, there is no graphics card so it can not adjust the resolution, sound card and no, I will return again to look once again to thank sweatyone great support! scwhar
Well done yoyo, glad to hear that BootCD worked, and I just noticed you put all sys spec up the page, doh Install voodoohda ( http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&id=60210 ) with kextutility - this should give you working sound. Graphics - HD4850 works for me by editing the info.plist in 4800controller.kext and booting with graphicsenabler=y in chameleon using latest PCEFI, This won't work on all graphics cards - look here for more info http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=181405

scwhar
Can't help with that yoyo I use chameleon, not sure if bootthink even supports graphics injection? Place to ask is the 4850 thread I linked to in last post, this graphics card is a bit off topic here.

scwhar
Yes I will have a look at it. Anything in particular you want fixing on it? If you install voodoopstate.kext and run pstatechanger, then post a picture of the pstates tab I can add the scope info so you should get vanilla speedstep - see this thread http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=181631# I need to see the information like in this picture http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&id=61968

scwhar
I will not modify, ask you to help correct my bar! Our motherboards, display cards, are the same, you will help to correct my bar! Thanks! I will modify your DSDT.. but I do not patch DSDT for graphics, use chameleon/PC EFI 10.5 and modify ati4800controller.kext for that. There is little benefit in DSDT patching with this board apart from patching the CPU part to enable vanilla speedstep, and I cannot do this without extra information from you (it is specific to your CPU and overclock) Please install http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&id=61773 with kext utility run http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&id=61820 and post the information as I asked in my last post THEN I can patch your DSDT I know English is difficult for you but please try and understand this post! In the meantime you can try this DSDT NoscopeGeneric.dsl.zip

scwhar
Is this page? ! http://www.zooomr.com/photos/lucifr/8494777/ yes like that - I think this is not your data as that picture is a month old? EDIT: If that one did not work this is based off your DSDT, it might improve hard drive performance & sleep and it compiles well, but I cannot do much more without the info from pstatechanger yoyoDSDT.zip
