I loved Wolfenstein Enemy Territory (for XP) because it was so fun, big'ish maps, and not 30 second rounds where everyone seems to have an aimbot impanted in there brains I like to sneak around, find a good spot and ... yidakee Posted February 14, 2009 Author Share Posted February 14, 2009 I have it actually and beem playing, but the maps are small, players are bright red or blue! am I missing something here? Played for 2 or 3 days, all servers seem similar... Downloading America's Army, though they advise it runs slow on intel's... I'll report back, but please keep suggesting... Some maps with buildings with open windows that can see far and you even get nice sniper gear! Also a good game is Sniper Elite, its solely a sniper game will a cool head shot slow mo replay! Been playing all morning and I have to say I'm quite disappointed. Gamesplay is nice and all, but a couple of things bug me quite a bit, but I'm not going into all details, but let me just emphasize that the killcam feature they included in multiplayer mode is the most stupid idea I have ever seen for a tactical battle game. I am no camper, but yes, sniping is an art of patience, most of the time searching for a good spot, normally taking a lot or risk and time, effort bla bla. Also to plant bombs and tactical intel to the team... One kill and your position is completely revealed, because the killcam shows who got killed the replay... in the eyes of the killer!!! What stupid, stupid idea.... Now, if I could ONLY remember the name game I played during summer at a friends house many years ago... grrrr!! That one was brilliant, could pilot choppers and drive veichles... multiplayer (which is my only goal here) was absolutely brilliant, spent hours on end... Anyway, COD4 plays nice on minimal settings on my lappy, which is lower than the minimum requirements asked for it. Erño Posted February 20, 2009 Share Posted February 20, 2009 I'm a sniper in the Finnish defense forces so I know a bit about sniping It pisses me off that there are no games that have proper sniping. COD4 would be great, but you can't really make use of the camouflage (someone always cheats or has grass and such turned off) and the game is too hectic cause there are allways hundreds of bunnyhoppers jumping around the map. Not like real battle at all. The killcam doesn't help. AA has been the best option (even with no possibility of camouflage), but it hasn't been developed in some years. The windows version has only gotten minor updates which haven't really improved the game. It's old and dying. Let's hope AA3.0 will change all that like they promised. One option would be Battlefield 2, but it's windows only and it's also getting old. I've heard there is a cider port out there, but it can't be found anywhere. This is a game I'd like to try in OSX.
