  1. So I've been researching servers lately as I am trying to find the best one for a small business. During my research I bee-bopped across NewEgg and found this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16816142004 In the Specs for Operating System is says Windows 2000/2003 & Mac 10 & Linux 2.4 or above Could this be a hidden Hackintosh Server?! Also if you have suggestions for a small business of starting out with 5 employees and we want to run our web, mail, ftp, and vpn off the same server which would you choose? We will only be storing files, a database might be implemented later but not for now
  2. what is the best for me ?

1 rule of English, don't Center everything, that makes it hard to read! And I also suggest checking the HCL google OSx86 HCL and look for your hardware there and you can try Leo4All, iAtkos or cant think of the other big name one but yea
  3. iPhone Tunnel for Mac OS X?

    Jailbreak it and use PDANet
  4. If you arent good with computers then if I was you I would get a Psystar www.psystar.com
  5. iTunes Purchase Help

hehehe <- has a lot of depth Yes you can. Simply click on your account and view it and its in there in the settings where you can setup the credit card information... er if you dont have an account you make one!
  6. Yea have you ever heard of Google? They host a search engine that can find lots of information about it!
  7. please little help with wine!

This would be 100 times easier http://www.microsoft.com/Mac/products/messenger/default.mspx
  8. If this exists I'm sure it would be posted here http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.6
  9. I've been running some benchmarks on OSX and Ubuntu and on a Hackintosh. OSX performs SUBSTANTIALLY lower than Ubuntu in these tests, but running the same tests on a Mac Mini OSX does better. So conclusion can be made that OSX is designed for the hardware apple puts out, if you put it on custom hardware it will more than likely perform worse.
  10. Go here http://tinyurl.com/39spuj put in familyandfriends Customize the laptop to your wants and needs and then look for XxX x86 10.5.6 Universal Final on your favorite cough*torrent*cough website and have a good day
  11. Yea just reformat it and unless someone is specifically after your life then you will want to get some software that will write 0's to the drive.
  12. Need Vista Drivers :/

Hey no double posting and try Google first http://tinyurl.com/pumy4z
  13. Mac OS 8 betas

why the heck would you want the beta of such an old OS?
  14. You should be able to resize it (i dont know if you can do that from Disk Utility cuz i normally use GParted for all my partitioning) and as long as you arent resizing it to less than or close to the amount of data you have then you should be good. Also did you originally format it as MBR or GUID?
  15. Why Linux is not (yet) Ready for the Desktop

I think this is article is very immaturely written. Most of the problems they are having are exaggerated by their rants and raves of opinions and annoying use of "full stop". "Cedega and Wine offer very incomplete support. " "Home and work users just won't bother installing Linux until they can work for real." "Problems stemming from low linux popularity and open source nature" "Huge shutdown time. " "Slow (libraries) linker. Braindead slow linker. Intolerably slow linker. Win32 OpenOffice being run from Wine starts in a less time than native Linux OpenOffice. Microsoft Office 2003 starts from Wine in a matter of few seconds even on 1GHz CPUs with a slow HDD." I mean this is ridiculous how ignorant this person is being. It a waste of a read unless you are mad at linux and you would like to read about someone else who is frustrated with it. I have migrated an entire family over to Ubuntu 9.04 because of XP's slowness and virus problems. Ubuntu shuts down and starts up faster than XP (or even Vista but Vista sucks all around so I wont mention it in comparison again) on any machine. This article has no evidence to back it up, just opinion after opinion. I would like him to look at how "ready" Windows is for the desktop and how "ready" Mac is for the desktop user. I'm sure he will find some similarities in his list. It seems just to be another article comparing OS's in this on going OS battle. This is what it should boil down to. If it works for your needs use it, if it doesnt dont. Its that simple, not everyone is going to agree on one OS or the other. Some people love Windows, some people love Linux, some people love Mac, not everyone is going to love just 1 and thats the way it is going to be and it always has been for ANY other subject in life. So as a editorial its ok, as an informative article it fails.
