I have a problem, for me notebook Sony VGA-AR170P, after install in every way renounces to load. I tried to put only Intel Ichx driver and all, but however renounces to be loaded...

in -s mode stop load on localhost /usr/sbin/ocspd[99]: starting

I have Intel I945 chipset,

2.0 Duo COre

1 Gb RAM

80+80 Gb HDD

GeFroce Go 7600 GT video

Any ideas?

seems not to work for me:

my specs:

Mainboard: K9N Neo / Bios V. 1.3 060206 (Nforce 550 chipset)

CPU: AMD Athlon X2 3800+

Ati Radeon X1650 Pro ( 0x1002/0x71c1)

2 Seagate SATA Drives (ST3120026AS)

Sometimes it produces kernel panics and sometimes it stops at the grey apple screen with the "no waiting sign" on it.

try to change kernel....

try to change kernel....

I changed a little bit more and now it works nearly perfect :-)

I updated the Bios to V1.9 and changed some settings. switched off the ide drive and for the nForce 550 i reinstalled another ethernet driver because of the kernel panics.

Just a few little mistake is still there: I installed the german package but there is no chance to activate it. Any ideas what it could be? its still englisch even in the system preferences everything is changed to german.

another problem is sharing a ide drive. if i try to do so it always kicks the drive out o the list when i try to connect with my mbp. ideneb v1.4 seems not to accept the sharing of an ide drive properly.

Im gonna try this. I currently have Leo4All V3 10.5.2. Its been working like a charm on my Gigabyte P35 DS3L R2.0 for months and I've been hesitant to try any upgrades over 10.5.2. Sadly I cannot use a lot of the newer programs so I have to upgrade sooner or later. For whatever reasons Leo4All has decided to call it quits.

Should I use Vanilla or Voodoo kernel? I have a C2D E4300 cpu. I think I tried Vanilla in Leo4all but that broke the install, so I have to use Netkas kernel.

Secondly, I believe Leo4All uses EFI where iDeneb has Chameleon? I have 2 IDE harddrives, one with XP and the other with Leo4All. I use the chain0 method where I can boot into Leo4all from my boot.ini. This method works perfectly and I'd like to keep it. Is it possible with iDeneb or does it not matter?

I'm getting a recurring (as in EVERY TIME) hard freeze during the "extracting packages" phase of installation. I have NO idea how to prevent that from happening. Mouse still moves, system is locked up, though.

I have installed it successfully once before, after much trial and error due to this problem. I've burned a new disc (at 2x) to ensure that scratches/errors aren't the problem.

Hi guys,

I tried iDeneb 1.4 just for fun, and I immediately noticed that I get a kernel panic when I plug in any USB device. Someone mentioned a fix a few pages back which involved changing a few .kexts. Can someone post the files I have to change to, because I don't want to download 1.3 just to get a couple files. My specs:

evga 750i FTW motherboard

q6600 @3ghz

4GB RAM @1066

160GB sata HD

Thanks for the help!

sony vaio laptop (VGN-NR160)

core2duo 1.5

4gb ddr

hdaudio (NOT SUPPORTED WITH THIS RELEASE, kalyway had applehdaudio option which worked fine)

intel gma950 (drivers with this release don't work, and none that i've tried work either)

marvell yukon (i think 8039, which did not work, but i have some that do)

intel 3945 wifi (not even gonna attempt getting this to work)

attempted to get this working. install went fine, first boot came up with garbled blue screen. same with safe mode. booted into single-user mode and removed all GMAX3100 kexts. then was able to boot into VESA mode. for some reason, system always tries to use those kexts for every install i do. after removing GMA3100 kexts, still get 'display family' error, but booted fine. i also noticed a USB error during bootup. inserting thumbdrive causes system lock. will try seatbelt update to see if that works.

any advice on the gma950? i've tried almost every option on the forums, but none of them seem to load after install (kexthelper + trash Extensions.mkext + repair permissions). i even used 'kextload' but that doesn't do anything either.

is there any other options i should check during install with this setup? i only selected video driver (gma950), network driver (yukon2) and the 9.2.0 sleep kernel, nothing else.

any help is appreciated. thanks.

Hey there, hope I can help you with this.

I've been working on this install on my VGN-NR220E for about a week now. Recently got the mointor working almost perfect with QE/CI working. Let's see if I remember what I did.

Needed:

attached gma3100.zip (basically contains 3 older files that you will mix in with the newer ones.)

Extra Monitor _ sorry need this one time once the new .kexts and plugins are loaded for the first time.

Steps:

1) go into system preferences and ENABLE a CORNER with sleep, i did top right.

2) install attached - appleintel3100.kext, appleintelgmax3100fb.kext and natit.kext (all from simcolor)

3) add appleintel3100ga.plugin, appleintel3100gldriver.bundle, appleintel3100vadriver.bundle to system/library/extensions/

Upon restart I got a scrren(laptop) that was split up and refresshing to quick to be able to really see much, plugged in 2nd monitor and it was clear. Opened system pref / displays and adjusted internal monitor.

switched to 1280 x 768 (i think) - ONLY ISSUE IS MENU BAR repeats at bottom, but I can live with that!!

On your next restart, you will see either a messed up screen or a black screen - just move your mouse towards the corner and your screen should work!!

I DO NOT TAKE CREDIT for this fix, I read about it in multiple places and I bvelieve this is what ended up working on my VAIO. Good luck!!

also, if you ever get your WIRELESS working in that VGN-NR*****, PLEASE PM me, I'm going NUTS trying to figure that one out!

gmax3100.zip

Hi I have Kalyway 10.5.2 working very well on and old 140GB (SATA) disk which I have disconnected for the duration of this test! My aim is to get a recent build that will work on my:

GA-P35-DS4 - rev 2.0 - F13 BIOS

Samsung 320GB HD320HJ (SATA)

using Jmicron IDE Controller with IDE Drive

I have checked the checksum of my download and burned with nero at 4x and verified the data on the disk.

When I insert disk it loads correctly and I press return or -v and see no apparent error messages.

However when I go to ''Disk Utility'' it will not let me format my drive as Journaled or FAT, always gets stuck on ''Creating Partition Table".

I then used Gparted 0.4.3-2 to make the disk a HFS+ partition and I could see the drive greyed out in ''Select a Destination" during install process.

Then I used XP with Paragon Partition Manager to format it as FAT32 and it cannot see any drives now at all in the "Disk Utility", not even the others!

I have been back to my Kalyway 10.5.2 installer DVD and it also lists my DVD Drive in "Disk Utility" which does not happen under my iDeneb 10.5.6. More importantly it also gives an error message when I try to format my disk, it says "Resource Busy". I have NO idea why this is! Maybe OS X doesn't like my hard disk?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't really understand EFI and havent installed anything at all for it so if I have missed something please explain! :D

Who knows how to solve this problem?

When I'm loading a disc with iDeneb 1.4, boot from them, and it does not boot to the installer. Note that I'm using the iDeneb 1.3 when booting from the disk has been written that the SATA controller drivers are selected for nForce CK804 by MeDevil (I have it), and iDeneb 1.4 write something about the VIA 8237 SATA controller.

My System is:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+

Gigabyte K8N SLI (nForce4 sli)

GeForce 6600GT 128mb PCIE

Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-216D (SATA)

HDD Samsung HD753Lj (SATA)

Would freeze on boot everytime when I had my GTX 260 installed (used -v -x -f commands)

but when I poped my old hD 2600 pro, it would work fine.

All worked except sound..I couldnt get to work no matter what, tried everything I found.

Specs:

e8400

4gb DDR2800

ep35-ds3l

80 IDE HD

This Distro is by far one of my most recomended Distro's kickin..very user friendly and it just works!

One problem I can not over come though, and its only been since 10.5.6, is I always get a halt on Shutdown...I've tried the shutdown fix, but no luck...Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Specs

Gigabyte EP35-DS3P

Intel Q9300

2Gb ram @ 800

Asus 8600GT

Is there anyway to make sleep work?? if someone can point in the right direction that'd Be awesome!

I tried the voodoo 9.5 Kernel, but no difference..

I have a really weird problem. for some reason i can download files in 2,5mb/s but connecting to this site takes forever. and not just this site. all sites. sometimes I need to wait 4 seconds. sometimes around 4 minutes. i have no idea whats going on and I don't like it! when i use windows all websites load instant. what can the reason for this weird problem be?

Anyone can help me? So far i'm using this without any problem but there is this one thing frustrated me. Its when I booting that time, it is the time it'll decide whether my usb keyboard and mouse will work or not. Sometimes it doesn't work so i have to restart my computer a lot of times and boot a lot of times till when i get lucky i'll be able to use them. What is the problem? It even happen that time i'm installing ideneb. So I had a rough time while planning to install it.

switched to 1280 x 768 (i think) - ONLY ISSUE IS MENU BAR repeats at bottom, but I can live with that!!

You can use DisplayConfigX to set your resolution to 1280 x 800 and eliminate this problem. It's found here: http://www.3dexpress.de/index.html

also, if you ever get your WIRELESS working in that VGN-NR*****, PLEASE PM me, I'm going NUTS trying to figure that one out!

The card isn't supported and no one has a working driver for the LAN-Express AS IEEE 802.11g card. I used iDeneb on my NR220E for about a month with everything working except the wireless card. There is a hardware hack that I found where you can replace the LAN-Express mini-PCI card with a Broadcom 43xx and get the wireless working, but I wasn't willing to try it.

Installed ok it seems. Burned a 4x, installed on my 2nd IDE HD. At first however I couldnt get to login window. Just a blue screen. Couldnt do safe mode or anything either. Went into verbose mode, and saw an error about Firewire Full Secure mode whatever that was. Would just hang there. I went back to the installer and just installed the Firewire Remove fix. That seems to have removed the error, but then i was getting USB errors. No keyboard or mouse in safe mode. So I went back into the installer again and installed the IOUSB fix. I finally got to the desktop and everything seems fine.

However when I plug in my external HD, OS X will crash or hangup. Dont know why, I've read this entire thread and Im not the only one. I ran Leo4All for months without a hiccup but this external USB issue is really bad. Cant live without it. So how do we fix it? I keep searching but Im not finding anything that helps.

Also, whats with the 1st post being stickied? I understand the point but its really distracting when the 1st post is so long. Any way to disable this feature?

Ok well I tried different things but nothing works. Just cant use my external HD, and information is so limited on how to get this working. I dont know, perhaps Im just not using the right terms in Search but its hopeless, just not finding any good info about this issue. I see lots of posts with no replies so I suppose these problems are rare no one else cares. I also get lockups when I try to mount an img. I installed Seatbelt fix but that didnt fix anything. Its like everytime I try something new it breaks even worse. Even my SATA DVD burner is not recognized.

Also I just noticed my Sata DVD drive isnt detected. Its not there at all. Obviously it works because I installed Ideneb with it, but when Im in OSX its not there. This is a silly distro I think, that or 10.5.6 is just not worth the hassle. Im going back to Leo4All. Not one problem and I can live with 10.5.2 for a good while.

iDeneb v1.4 10.5.6 working on my AMD system

AMD X2 3800+

Biostar Tforce4 AM2 mobo (nforce4 chipset)

4 GB RAM

ATI Radeon X300 graphic card

Linksys WMP54G PCI v2 wireless adapter (Broadcom driver)

2 ATA HDD, 1 SATA HDD, 1 ATA DVD

Onboard Audio AC97

Onboard Ethernet

Firewire PCI Card (Texas Instrument)

Installation complete in 20 minutes (from ATA DVD to ATA HDD)

Dual Booting with Windows 7 (each OS installed on separate HDD)

Everything work right Out Of The Box, except ATI X300 video card needs Callisto driver to run at 1440x900 (no QE/CI)

I also have ideneb v1 10.5.4 (updated to 10.5.5 using netkas method) working on another Intel system (e5200 Pentium Dual Core, Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3P, Nvidia geforce 7300 GT)

Using iDeneb since its first release, I can say that it is an excellent distro for both Intel and AMD

Thanks to Layne and his team for their hard works

Thanks to the Voodoo team, and all the OSX86 developers

Same thing here. If I open iTunes or Quicktime Player I get these small pauses every few seconds, visible as a slightly sticking mouse cursor. Some Googleing produced this fix:

QUOTE

As for the jumpy mouse, that is a product of OS 10.5.6 you can just rename the AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext via this command in a terminal window. Then restart and you should be all set. You can reverse the command at a later time to get it back.

sudo mv /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext.BAK

OMG! :thumbsup_anim: It really helped... yeah.. I'm so happy right now, because it was the only thing that was bugging me for such a long time...

Once again, google is our best friend... :) (and Kasakka is a good friend for the lazy ones) :D
